Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Never been a big fan if the E-J but I must confess, ever since seeing it on Azati Prime, I've wanted to know what it looks like from all angles. It's probably one of the least-seen and least-understood canonical ships. Still wondering if the decks are laterally stacked instead of conventionally. Hopefully the accompanying book will flesh out this one in particular.

Agreed. Unfortunately I think the book will be similar to some of the other background ships we've seen thus far, where the book is mostly about the design and the episodes it was featured in.

It is canon, but it wasn't it an alternate timeline to be fair.
Seen as it was seen at the Battle of Procyon V, where the Delphic Expanse takes up half the galaxy, "it extends 50,000 light years in all directions and it is growing."

Seen as Archer and co stopped the Sphere Builders at the end of s3, and their Expanse-generating-spheres, didn't that mean that precise future will no longer happen in "Trek Prime"'s future'?

Yes. The Sphere Builders existed in the future, used the TCW as a way of taking out the Federation in the past and slaving the Xindi into making the spheres terraform the galaxy well ahead of their 26th century attempts.

So maybe there is an Enterprise J in either case, just in the "original" timeline she was battling the Sphere Builders just starting out making the spheres in 2550's in normal space.

I'll still be buying one, I'm one of the few people who seems to love the design.

Here's what i'm hoping for:

Vulcan shuttle and warp sled
Olympic
All the Xindi ships, including Degra's
The Antares (TOS-R)/The Huron (TAS)
The Merchantman
The D'kyr type
The Cheyenne & the New Orleans (best of the BOBW kitbashes)
The Medusan ship (TOS-R)
Breen cruiser
Heiarchy ship (just because its so weird)
Malon freighter
Caretaker's array
Species 8472 bioship
Borg Queen diamond
Daedelus
Spacedock, Regula 1 and Orbital Office complex

Got issue 9 the other day which is the defiant model and got some interesting info about the ship I didn't know, the nose section of the ship where the navigational deflector is and where it uses at ds9 is capable of detaching from the ship and used as a missile filled with torpedos and the rest of the ship would landed on a nearby planet.

Enterprise-J! *faint* That's great ship I'm looking forward to.

Merchantman isn't my cup of tea, but basically everything that came in CGI is a potential target, e.g. the Hirogen hunter escort.

The TOS robot ship (maybe not the Antares in particular), the Borg Diamond, Vulcan ship from First Contact and several Xindi ships are on the peliminary list.

Let me say this?, if you all are talking about Star Trek . Com
You may not fine much comeing out of there. The only way you may get any thing from there is your self may need to dig for info that you want. But you may also need to talk to others who have not Ben band from there web site. You sure can fine info out there if you just keep on to it. This is all I can give you all.

But they haven't updated their master list much.

Supposed to run to 70+ issues and only about 25 of them have been released so far, so there's time for them to flesh it out.

One ship I reckon be good to have in the collection would be the nx enterprise version that doug Drexler did that make the ship look like a constitution class.

There are lots of offical ships still left. I would focus on those before asking about things like the Titan or the secondary-hull Drexler NX-01; the latter just makes me sad because it reminds me what could have been for the series.

We're upto issue 25 here which is cool, I now have fifteen models (Thirteen regular ones and Two specials) and they all look great on my shelf.

Translation please. Not sure if you're not a native English speaker or something else, but that makes no sense what so ever.

No thank You. It's a hideous design, and one that is in no way official. It's basically fan sank by a designer on the show.

There are hundreds of ships that are official to the tv shows and films. How about we get those, before we get the work that has literally nothing to do with the tv shows.

I'd love to have it. It's already been produced as a model kit, so I can see a model as a logical stretch. That being said, whack it at the end of the collection. A special treat to folks who stuck through it to the end. I'd much rather have a complete set of First Contact ships than the NX-Refit, but i'd rather take the NX-Refit over a Numiri Patrol ship.

The NX Refit was intended to be used in the next season but the series was cancelled before that happened. I would have liked to have seen it appear as the ship was repaired after the Xindi arc- that would have been a great opportunity to add more 'cowbell' to the ship.

I do not believe this is true. Doug designed a ship that could have a section swapped out. But I have never heard producers say that they were going to do that.

1st even if a writer, or even head writer wanted to. IT would mean having to have completely new ship shots, no recycled footage. Braga wanted to have some damage on Voyager throughout his tenure, but even with a larger audience and no fear of cancellation, they weren't going to stop using recycled footage.

They only time I could see Rick ever accepting the expense is if it happened in the last episode. Say at the end where you see the ship get a remodel, and have a shot to two. It certainly wouldn't be done on a long term basis.

Next point, even if I am wrong and Manny decided great idea, and took it to Rick and Rick said yeah lets spend the money. What Doug created would very likely not be the final approved design. Hero ships have always had significant changes versus the design created by the art department.

There is no way that Doug's final design would be the design approved by Manny and then by Rick. Not as a hero ship. Never.

i mean look at Doug's redesigned DS9, do you honestly believe Ira and then Rick would agree with that design?

About the First Contact ships, I hope they add the Steamrunner, Saber and Norway. We've never seen them as models before, except for WizKids' small but well done Saber.

I received an email from Eaglemoss confirming that the JJ-prise will be coming out next month for $38.
