Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

The NX Refit was intended to be used in the next season but the series was cancelled before that happened. I would have liked to have seen it appear as the ship was repaired after the Xindi arc- that would have been a great opportunity to add more 'cowbell' to the ship.

I do not believe this is true. Doug designed a ship that could have a section swapped out. But I have never heard producers say that they were going to do that.

1st even if a writer, or even head writer wanted to. IT would mean having to have completely new ship shots, no recycled footage. Braga wanted to have some damage on Voyager throughout his tenure, but even with a larger audience and no fear of cancellation, they weren't going to stop using recycled footage.

They only time I could see Rick ever accepting the expense is if it happened in the last episode. Say at the end where you see the ship get a remodel, and have a shot to two. It certainly wouldn't be done on a long term basis.

Next point, even if I am wrong and Manny decided great idea, and took it to Rick and Rick said yeah lets spend the money. What Doug created would very likely not be the final approved design. Hero ships have always had significant changes versus the design created by the art department.

There is no way that Doug's final design would be the design approved by Manny and then by Rick. Not as a hero ship. Never.

i mean look at Doug's redesigned DS9, do you honestly believe Ira and then Rick would agree with that design?

You're not wrong about most of that, but Andy Probert actually designed the new DS9, and it was modelled by Deg. Doug Drexler was just the facilitator if you will.

It would have been too much of an expense for a fifth season at the time, but even if this whole "Enterprise Season V on Netflix" thing is just a pipe dream, a revamped NX-01 isn't a bad thing to help differentiate it from OG Enterprise.

I'm confused; shouldn't the USA be getting the "All Good Things" Enterprise as our next special issue? Their website still says that we're supposed to on their front page.

(Well, technically, it says we're supposed to receive the AGT Enterprise on the 12th shipment, and a few inches below, on the 10th shipment, so who knows which is correct).

Yes, 12th shipment (originally it was the 10th, but was pushed back). So, as KevMan stated, we're slated to get 4 ships next month: JJPrize, AGT-D, plus the next two issues.

The "All Good Things" Enterprise isn't a special issue. It's a freebie that subscribers get. The 2009 Enterprise is going to cost $38.00 unless you opt out.

I'm on issues 16 (Marauder) & 17 (Dauntless) coming up so my 8th shipment I believe (?). I still have not received an offer or email concerning the DS9 special release. I'm signed up to automatically receive all special offers and have called several times to make sure of this but still nothing. I'm hoping to get it soon but so far nothing... :(

Edit: My location is in the US.

Yesterday I received the Krenim temporal weapon ship and the Xindi-Insectoid warship.

As usual, they're superb models. One quip I have about the Krenim ship is that the 'prism' in the forward ring is not included. If I ever come across a fitting piece, I might insert it myself.

The Xindi ship is top-notch and lighter than I expected.

The two issues I bought on Ebay were accompanied by their magazines this time, and it was great fun to read them. The designing the ship is the most interesting part, butI also like how the profile views explain what the ships' parts are/do. Including the two other Krenim ships on magazine pages was great, too.

Interestingly, my weapon ship came in two pieces, like an involuntary saucer-separation. I glued it together and wondered whether the 'real' KTWS might've been capable of that as well. However, it would serve no function to chop off the focusing struts.

I seem to recall the DS9 was charged seperate from the regular issues, but mine was shipped with the monthly issues.

Since we're supposed to get the AGT 1701D with the monthly releases, I could see two different shipments in this instance. (Too be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the AGT Enterprise slipped a month.)

On the billing, the email said "around August 4th". I'm not sure I like billing earlier than the date you say "around" on.

I don't see the problem. "Around" means it could happen a few days before OR after the day specified, in this case it was one business day.

I seem to recall the DS9 was charged seperate from the regular issues, but mine was shipped with the monthly issues.

Yep same happened to me. Billed separately, but shipped together.

Prometheus has landed.

Does somebody have picturs of the Krenim weapon ship? On the few public images, there's no view straight onto the bow.
