Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

As far as I can tell, they offer a la carte purchases just like EM did (though also with the same frequent out-of-stock listings EM had).
At significantly higher price though. I was just going to sub for the introductory offer of £37.95 and free postage and then cancel. The Titan otherwise costs £55 plus £4 postage.

Looks like preorders are open, so I’ll give it a go. It does say “cancel anytime”!

Interesting, it looks like on the U.S., a la carte orders are already available (or would be, if the three issues that have been released weren't out of stock). There's a regular $10 discount for subscribers, with a $20 discount on your first issue if and only if you start with the actual first issue, the Titan-A. If you start with the Stargazer, it's the normal subscriber price of $55.

Just got an email from Master Replicas - they are apparently launching their own "starship library" line with the Kelvin-prise, Discoprise, and Cerritos.

Looks like they are rehashing the old eaglemoss models in such a way so as not to step on fanhome's toes, but I think I'll stick with Fanhome for now.

Interesting! Size-wise those seem to be comparable to the original regular Eaglemoss line. The idea with the book inside the stand is interesting. I wish they’d give us a glimpse into what’s in it, though. Contemplating whether to pre-order the Cerritos, because having that a smaller size would be kinda cool.

EDIT: Also, I’m not sure I have ever seen it this clearly stated who designed the Cerritos and who did what: “The Cerritos was designed by Eric Nyquist, who worked with Lower Decks' creator Mike McMahan. The design was finalized by Joseph Martinez and Bobby Walker.”

That's not even the SNW version of the Enterprise wtf. False advertising

Not sure how serious you are with this, but it does say on the product images that the design is pending licensor approval and that final designs are subject to change. But yes, I wouldn’t be surprised if this doesn’t end up being the series version of the ship.

It does look like they did do some modifications to the model

The hull panel lines are are also a lot deeper than either of the Eaglemoss models.

~ Ooh, maybe I'll get a Cerritos model yet! Thanks for the heads-up :)

~ I thought of you as soon as I read this bit. I'm glad it's finally out in the open :D

Yeah, still not enough to make me buy it when I've already got the Eaglemoss XL Discovery version at home.

Plus, the paint doesn't even line up on the prototype version they're showing on the website. Times like this, I'm glad I know how to build a half decent model.

The Cerritos is an interesting choice to go along with the JJprise and Discoprise as the initial offerings.

For me the most tempting thing about them are the 48 page booklets. That said, I never got either of those Enterprises from Eaglemoss so I might consider them. Especially since they are roughly the same size as the original Eaglemoss line, so they’d fit right in with most of my collection.

Didnt realize the hull lines or forward bridge module on the SNW Discoprise is different, which is ironic if you read the original eaglemoss booklet (the ship designer didnt want to mess with the dome - thought it was sacrilegious to Jeffries' original design, so they made it some kind of shield/ barrier that could be lowered /raised /activated /deactivated at will)

Reading the description, it says the models will be 4 to 5 inches in length. Come to think of it, wouldn't that make them smaller than the eaglemoss releases? I feel like my
Discoprise and Cerritos are bigger than that. Seems like these may be entirely new sculpts after all? Although a shame they are still missing a row of escape pods on the Cerritos aft saucer section, just like previous releases. It's one of those things you can't unsee once you see it.

The booklets are tempting, but with dwindling space, not sure I can justify having another model of Cerritos, Kelvinprise, and Discoprise.

I'd love to have the Picard season 2/3 fleet ships at the original smaller size. I wonder if Master Replicas' license allows them to release PIC/SNW/DIS ships that Fanhome haven't done yet.
Yeah, I'm not super-excited for those background PIC/STO ships taking up so many early slots in the FanHome releases when there are so many more prominent ships they could be doing.

At one point you could get 4-5 inch ships from Hot Wheels, Eaglemoss and QMx pretty much simultaneously, so I have no idea how these licenses are structured (for those three maybe they were segmented as toy, mailorder subscription and collectors, respectively). Considering Master Replica has real world experience trying to unload those barely glimpsed ships, I wouldn't be surprised if there new line was limited in scope and they just stuck with the more popular ones.

The hull lines aren't different in SNW, that's just something weird MR has done maybe a manufacturing error or just a WIP. It's also missing the saucer rim windows.

The only difference with the bridge module in SNW is the the view screen. in DSC there appears to be a big observation gallery in front of the bridge, but SNW got rid of that and just has a slot for the view screen.

They added the changed view screen in the new MR model, but left the colouring of the DSC one behind

I should have said snw discoprise model from MR, not the production CGI asset used on the show.

Another MR email today - this time they want you to subscribe to the collector club ($99) and they will give you the opportunity to purchase their exclusive USS Solvang (California class, red stripe) and Uss Oddessy (galaxy class from DS9s Season 2 finale "The Dominion")

Email from Fanhome. They’ll be offering two special versions of the Star Trek Library ships to Club Members. No ETA given.
The models:
Galaxy–class USS Odyssey.
California–class USS Solvang
.

I hope this works out for them and they produce the USS Merced too — it would be cool to have all three California department colors at a smaller scale.
