Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

they are. I wish Eaglemoss had sold them that way from the start.
On that note, my Executive Shuttle arrived today. I was surprised to see it included a tiny magazine, and even more surprised that it was in German. At least I can look at the pictures. ;)

That model reminds me the most of the Kellogg/Avanti design.

I would have preferred they didn’t add the galaxy class nacelle kitbash parts to the underside, I think it would look better with a clean bottom, particularly since the the kitbashed parts look kinda tacked on as an afterthought.

In other news, the "FE Masterworks" website went live. There are some additional details (exact sizes for the models), and also, the Excelsior is $16,000, $1k more than the refit, and the -D is $17,000.

No more information about the quality except the same smoke and mirrors about "master builders who've worked on major motion pictures." It does mention light and sound effects, which is something I suspected (the Excelsior had a conspicuous light fixture at the forward-upper phaser bank). It's still hard to imagine anyone who could be in the target market for this who doesn't also realize they could commission one for that kind of money.

FE has been posting some videos on social media of their booth at Comic-con. The models don't seem to be much different from what's in the preview videos, except the main shuttlebay on the -D is lit and painted, so it's a bit less embarrassing. It is hard to be sure, though, comparing shaky cell-phone video to those lovingly slow 4k tracking shots we got before.

ETA: The price for the -D and some info from the floor showing at SDCC

just seen this.. Lots of Mulah..

Huh, just looked at the length.. 35 inches, so roughly really close to the 1/350 scale kit thats already out for the refit. probably 1/500 for excelsior since its the same length.

You could get better by getting someone to build a Polar Lights 350 refit professionaly done. or just do it yourself.

This QMx artisan replica Enterprise was $5000 in 2011 (so about $7000 today). I saw the ‘09 version in person at SDCC and can confirm the QMx ships were very well built high end models. These Factory Entertainment ones seen to be sorely lacking for almost double the price. Maybe you could blame it on the prototype nature of what we’ve seen, but usually prototypes for new models are often better built and finished than the production versions in order to garner maximum interest.

MR with some advanced drop info via Twitter today.

Phase 2 Enterprise, Yosemite Shuttle coming at the end of August.

Probert E-C, Enterprise F, Hiawatha, Excelsior Prototype and NYCC Exclusive Avantine arriving in Sept.

Went ahead and used my 15% off code and grabbed the Defiant Shuttle and flight mode Klingon Bird of Prey.

kinda funny that the shuttle was the pricier of the two.

I believe the code only works if they’ve sent it to you. It must be keyed to one’s account somehow.

Does anyone else do this: even if there are no ships I’m interested in, I still log on for the drop just to see how fast certain things sell out.
