Interestingly, the one in the trailer has the impulse engines that were not yet present in First Contact and DS9. Maybe they used the geometry of the updated model that Fabio Passaro built for the Eaglemoss magazine?

I've been saying for years that they should be taking advantage of the digital starship library Eaglemoss has commissioned on the actual shows.

The USA-based Build the Enterprise-D subscriber outsider238 had posted a video about giving up on the build, and received a call from an Eaglemoss rep.
In the following video - YouTube link: - outsider238 explained part of the discussion. The collection has been delayed by shipping delays from China and a flooding of the factory there.
Some of the building process, e.g. the interior lightning, was purposefully made complex so customers feel like they get their money’s worth. Outsider explained this backfires because the lighting and setting in each individual window on the saucer is frustrating.
With the delays to shipping, I myself am considering to cancel my Universe sub, given that I can get the models far quicker off the Webshop. Only thing holding me back, are there likely to be more gifts?

I believe so. They always come up with something new, around every other year, although they're more "Specials" that you only get with a subscription that you have to pay for (like several books, the mug, La Serina pins, poster prints, etc.) so not really "gifts" in the purest sense of the word.

2 grand is a shit ton of money for a model, but actually building it, and dealing with issues that come up are par for the course. Gotta expect troubles and look forward to tackling them to emerge victorious!

Yeah I'm quite glad I didn't go down this E-D path. The problems I experienced with the DeLorean build weren't quite as hefty as what has been mentioned here - and to be fair, a lot has also improved - but they were enough for me to shy away from another subscription build of this scope.
Now, if they did a TOS Battlestar Galactica build... hmmm... I've already foregone the Hachette 1:350 Space Battleship Yamato and Andromeda builds after much pain, suffering and gnashing of teeth... shit, I might wind up getting divorced again...

I’ve decided to cancel my Star Trek Universe sub. I can’t imagine what kind of gifts might come up yet but I was only interested in the extra ship models anyway.
On the upside, I placed a big order for ships to catch up. I’m particularly excited for the Section 31 Deimos-class. When playing my ships, I have used a Nimrod-class (with lower nacelles removed) as a stand-in for the militaristic Bismarck-class USS Enterprise-I.

Why would anyone sign up for this 'build the D model'? I am genuinely curious because the promo images show a lot of these issues. There are huge panel gaps on the nacelles, the nacelles are misaligned, much of the detailing is wrong or missing. Now, we expect that to some extent with the starships collection - but we are shelling out a lot less money.
For example, Eaglemoss have screwed the pooch with every Enterprise model - except the NX01.

Ent-A, the whole model is crap. The saucer rim is all kinds of wrong, you can see the pegs through the deflector, which is terrible. The bridge module is incorrect - the list goes on and on.
I collect some of the models because they are pre-made and look quite nice on a shelf - but no way would I trust Eadlemoss to build a high-end replica, at least without first seeing a decent completed build.
I'm slowly building the 1:350 Enterprise kit (movie version) and I tell you, it will be a work of art when it's done. There are pro-builders out there selling this kit complete for around 2k and you'd be better off buying an Enterprise from them, rather than this Eaglemoss junk.

Why can't we have more Japanese Makers manufacturing smaller Diecast Star Trek models.

Worth recalling they originally pitched it a couple of years ago, but everyone immediately looked at their model and pointed out a bunch of issues. They quietly withdrew it and did more development.
The current model is better, but there are still a lot of issues with it. Alarm bells rang for me when they didn't even have a finished prototype at launch. For that amount of money, you want to be damn sure you'll get something worthwhile at the end of it.
A lot of people just enjoy putting together partworks, and that's fine. I'm enjoying watching people put theirs together, but glad I didn't commit to it myself.
I'll never understand why people buy Trek socks, or these insanely ugly funko pop things that are all just variations of the same minimalistic cheap baby toy design.
But hey, it's not your money they're spending, and if they enjoy it, why not let people have the fun they get out of it.
Here in the UK, Jupiter Station (Special 28) and the Colonial Shuttle (BSG issue 24) have been delivered.
New to BSG lore, at least to me, is that the boxier shuttle type is called the Mark I shuttle. This dovetails nicely with the Vipers' mark designations. By extension, the more streamlined shuttle is the Mark II shuttle.
The Jupiter Station model is really cool. The double-stand is clever. I never noticed there were phaser strips on the saucers' underside. Even my partner approves of the cool design of the station!
Lore fun fact: in the novels, this type of station is a Helios class variant.
