Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

But my point is that they’re not at all obligated to use any STO or Pocket Books design in their shows. PIC already deviates from the novelverse and the STO timeline, so there’s no reason to slavishly follow them. The only reason why the PB Titan was used was because the showrunner wanted to tribute Sean Torangeau. I don’t see any kind of need for that with the Ent-F. Personally, if they plan on using that STO ship for the Enterprise, I’d rather they just show a 25-year-old Enterprise-E still in service.

And, even in the STO timeline, the E-E is still active at the turn of the century, when PIC is set.

I think the Titan has more mind-share than the E-F. The -F was only used in STO (though its class was used for Picard's flagship during his time as an Admiral in the PIC prequel comics, which I think might actually make it less likely to be used as an Enterprise on-screen), while the Titan design was commissioned for the novels, but was used everywhere else (comics, STO, even a traveling Trek exhibit) since the Titan was, essentially, the newest canon Trek starship up until the PIC finale, while if you were going to show the current Enterprise, tie-ins generally defaulted to the E-E rather than inventing a new one.

I wouldn't take the PIC prequel comics as any more canon than the prequel comics to Star Trek XI. For all intents and purposes--at least for now--the Enterprise-E is still around at the time of PIC, IMO. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if we never see the current Enterprise at all in PIC.

We are nearing the end of the year. I presume the XL Discovery-A won't be coming out as promised then, given that there's been no preview pics.
I wonder if the Star Trek Universe collection could prioritise Season 4 ships that lack detachment? Like the Courage class and USS Dresselhaus.

Meanwhile, I've ordered the USS Valiant from Star Trek Online via GamePrint. I'm looking forward to comparing it with the Eaglemoss model when it arrives.

I am warming to the El Baz.

I have this scene in my head where a parent flies through a swarm of much more agile fighters in a dogfight passes unharmed to pick up a child…

I added the missing cockpit windows on my Snakehead:

That’s cool!
I’ll try to duplicate that on mine

So I originally came up with two ways Eaglemoss could have the detached nacelles work with the 32nd century ships: either the stand would have extra transparent clips to hold them in place, or the ship itself would have transparent parts permanently attached to give the impression of the nacelles being separated. Turns out EM came up with a third solution that’s worse than the first two: add transparent clips to attach the nacelles. So now not only are the nacelles detached and easily lost, the clips meant to hold them in place are separate pieces that can also be lost.

Yeah this was not a good solution. I would have gone with your option 2. It would have made the whole model a lot more stable, no missing parts, and would have probably been the cheapest to produce. It's weird that they almost went with the most expensive option, forcing the nacelles to be completely canted off-parallel from the centerline. :sigh:

A solution I read online that I would’ve like to see,
is using black-painted parts to simulate the “space” between components. That way, Eaglemoss avoids using clear plastic but still has a solid connection between ship parts.
Alas…

Eaglemoss/HeroCollector have confirmed their attendance at DST London.

They’ll have a stand and will display content relating to the USS Enterprise Build the D collection.
Perhaps the prototype or otherwise complete model?

Personally, I’d love if they had some pre-order ships on display to look at, eg BSG Colonial Shuttle, yellow Nostrokonti, USS Valiant, etc.

EDIT:
On the Facebook group, Sven Redlich shared comparison photos of the Type 6 shuttle and Type 15 shuttle pod. You can see the size difference between shuttle collection and the new versions. Link:https://www.facebook.com/groups/eaglemossstartrekfangroup/permalink/3088111944845461/
