What the hell did they do to the edge of the XL enterprise-A saucer? It's got like Rec Deck windows on the forward edge and they put cut-ins where the maneuvering thrusters are.

Since I had some money, I popped into my local collectible shop today to see if he had any new ships. Well, he did. Quite a few, in fact. Besides the Shenzhou and some of the newer numbered ships, he also had all the re-releases of the main ships. Although I was tempted to get the Tellarite ship, I went for Voyager instead. It was the only one of the re-releases I don't have and pretty much the only numbered "hero" ship I don't have. (Technically, I don't have the refit 1701, but I don't have the "A", so that's not that big a deal).
I know I've criticized this one before, but it's not actually that bad. It's still a shame that the nacelles don't pivot and I'm still quite irked that, even with the re-releases, that they still haven't corrected that serif on the "7" in the registry number (I know, picky, picky), but the shape looks really good. In fact it looks good from pretty much any angle.
I notice it sits quite high on the stand. Between that and the fact that it's rather front-heavy (they really should've had it clip on to the back of the saucer), I'm a little nervous about this one being prone to falling over, like the Steamrunner and Norway often has. Has anyone else had this problem?
(Also the very small magazine's a bit tough to read).

American BSG order site is up. Still nothing on subscription option. I hope we get an email soon on that.
That would be cool, but I think it’s probably about 10 years too late. It’s actually somewhat surprising to me that for as mega-popular as it was at its peak, how far nuBSG has fallen off the radar.
Both versions of BSG have a strong party faithful, irrespective of its current broadcast status. Question is, will it be enough?
Update: Just got an email notification that the Curry is on its way - WHOOT!
In other news I called up Eaglemoss to see if I could sign up for a BSG subscription. Doesn't look like it's available for purchase yet. The Mk II Viper itself won't be available until April, they said, which should be about when the subscription is also available too. So, I'll check again next month.

I got the Tellarite ship today. I like to get all the major races ships from "Enterprise", so this was a must.
Not quite as exciting as getting Voyager the other day, but I'm pretty content with it. Pity they didn't using clear plastic for the nacelles, but not bad otherwise.
I do wish they'd recycled a ship design that wasn't so recent with this one, and not one from a major race. (It was the Xindi-Arboreal ship from the previous season).

I thought Hasbro and Kenner already made every SW ship under the sun. 
One of the main reasons this ship line is so successful is because Paramount/CBS and Viacom before them (and possibly after) has done a superlatively piss-poor job marketing to their fan base compared to the Wars juggernaut, the latter of which has only gotten more lucrative since the Mouse took over. The charm of this line is we're finally seeing ships that have heretofore been unknown and unseen for over 25 years. Star Wars toys don't hesitate to make a droid action figure or ship that was seen for 2 seconds on film in a blurry background shot. It's also one of the reasons Boba Fett was so inexplicably popular - the toy based on him, before his live-action debut in ESB (and subsequent bad press from the kid choking on his backpack missile making it taboo on top of the marketing blitz). It sure wasn't because of the Holiday Special!

Trekkies are far more frugal than Warsies. It seems to me that Star Wars fans don't hesitate to consume anything their franchise puts out - while Trekkies go on online forums and debate whether or not they should switch to Blu-ray from their VHS tapes.

I think they did a lot of damage to their merchandising value with the piss-poor line of toys from Star Trek (2009).
I agree. The poor likenesses, awful articulation, character availability (some were only in 3 inch while others only in 6 inch), and "buy more to complete" playsets probably burned fans' bridges with Paramount's merchandising division.
The ST09 line was likewise a load of humans and men in robes.

I hope we get some ship fluff. I mean, at least simple stuff like a list of other ships in the class and their dates of service and status/fate, like they did in Ships of the Star Fleet.
