Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

"LOYAL10" works for 10% off :techman: glad I found that!

Definitely agree with the above gif, just ordered the XL Voyager, the concept Enterprise-C (now available to order) and looking through their site I came across the Batman automobiles section... couldn't resist the Tumbler from Batman Begins too :D
So much for saving in the new year

good choice, got my partner one a few months back, it's really such a great little model once you unscrew it from that silly diorama base.

so about those discovery ships...

i'm sure this has been litigated in the discovery size argument thread (looking @King Daniel Beyond) but do these sizes jibe?

shenzhou: 423 meters
discovery: 750 meters

this means both ships are larger than the constitution class (289 meters). the discovery is allegedly more than 100 meters larger than the galaxy class even.

also... it appears they have finalized and updated the shenzhou's paint application (complete with misaligned windows, oy), as the images on the UK site have been updated. photos of the discovery still appear to be the prototype.

man, i can't wait to add weathering to this one.

Stolen from another thread, based on the Eaglemoss lengths:
quick and dirty, with one pixel for every meter:

these starships dwarf the constitution-class. we could remove the nacelles and they'd still be giants.

it's almost like they're precursors to some other, much larger starships, from some other universe...

Over in the Discovery Size Argument™ thread I think I've figured out how they scaled the Discovery based on the classic Enterprise

Interesting there's no sarcophagus ship yet. IIRC, Ben said that the details on that particular model may demand that it be an XL or special.

I like the series but the Klingon ships look genetically alien instead of showing a lineage.

I’m getting them anyway. :ouch:

So that gives us 12 of the 20 planned (for now).

What’s left that we know of that could round out the remaining 8 ?

Engle Class T’Plana-Hath
Malachowski
class Clarke

Sarcophagus Ship (more likely a special as mentioned above)

Also anybody know if we’re getting any subscriber freebies like binders with this sub ?

this is actually untrue.

if you look closely, you can see several raised panels in front of the bridge that are not present on the 2013 star trek/star trek into darkness model, but are present on the enterprise in beyond. also the section behind the bridge above the impulse engine, which is raised on the original, is flush with the primary hull, again, as on the actual production asset. no clue about the secondary hull, but i'm pretty sure that should be unchanged. i can't tell from these photos if they made the appropriate changes to the neck, but that would be a big, big miss.
I'm still holding my breath if it has the proper single long impulse engine on the saucer introduced at the end of ID and featured in BEY vs. the double ones from XI and ID. It's also missing four phaser turrets on the top and bottom of the saucer added for BEY.
