Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

$39.95 just popped up on the CC yesterday - slightly different from the usual monthly $39.90 for two ships. I can only assume this means the Kelvin is finally on its way in the US - whoot!
My will be on my doorstep tomorrow. *happydance*

The original Enterprise and NX-01 plaques aren't available yet (US customers), correct? Also, anyone else having a problem ordering more binders? I've been able to call Eaglemoss and have some sent in the past but the last time I did they said I had to order them through the online store. Unfortunately, they haven't had any in stock for quite a while.

Original series plaque is now in the store for UK and US

Well I was a little too late to stop being charged for the Kelvin special (which I bought during the Christmas sale). I called up Eaglemoss but it showed as already shipped so they couldn't cancel it. However, they gave me a 20% discount on my next scheduled shipment and I'll just put this second one up on ebay. I also asked again about the binders which still can't be ordered through the online store. The rep said they can't place an order on the phone. She was very nice and said she'd send out a complimentary one to me free of charge . I thought that was pretty cool of Eaglemoss.

I did get the Borg Tactical Cube, Relativity and the Botany Bay yesterday as well. Both the Relativity and Botany Bay are really nice with the BB being my favorite. Really like the subtle detailing on it giving it a much more "real" look than the original screen version. It's not as detailed or painted like the remastered CG version but I like this version the best.

Thanks @Sans for the heads up on the plaque but I think I'll wait till it goes on sale like the others and I can grab it for $16 rather than the $24 their asking now.

Speaking of Borg ships, has anyone heard if there's a chance that the Japanese-only Borg Cube is ever going to be made available elsewhere? It looks a little more accurate to the TNG version than the bigger one does (which I'm assuming is supposed to be more closely resembling the "First Contact" version.

I don't know if I can wait that long. Has anyone noticed how often these sales happen?

Not soon enuff.

The Kelvin showed up today and it's beautiful! Really like this scale the NuTrek ships are in this series. Nice detailing, great paint job, and the magazine shows a bunch of Kelvin conceptual designs. Well worth it! :bolian:

I agree. I like this model so much more than the NuEnterprise.

I don't think there is any chance of ever getting the japanese borg cube. Ben has pretty much said he doesn't want it,

The end of January sale was a surprise to me, but I'd guess that the next sale will be Easter. The other sales that I have seen are Black Friday at the end of November, then sales just after Christmas and in the New Year. Apart from that, you'll probably just have to check up on the site regularly to catch the other sales.

I picked up the Xindi Aquatic Cruiser on Thursday by the way.

Have to say that although I don't own every model, all the ones I have got (and though are a lot better than others) I've been happy enough with each one. This is my first where I've thought I kinda wished I hadn't bothered. It's just kinda meh, nice enough shape but there's no real detail on it and looks very poor compared to the very nice CGI model in the magazine.

And as I'd seen the subscribers saying on the facebook page- the stand for it is terrible! I've had to have a route through all my other models to see if there's an acceptable replace. The one for the Armoured Voyager isn't perfect but probably works best and firs snugly enough.

There a link to its image?

So a few days ago I was charged the price of one ship. Today I was informed I will be receiving the Botany Bay (Oh no!) soon. Looks like there might be a slight delay in subscribers getting the Norway class.

Yep got that email just now as well. Kind of disappointing having to wait a little longer for the last of the First Contact ships, but not earth-shattering.

This is probably old news to most, but I got just my hands on two of the lowest-numbered ships yet: The 1701-D and the NX-01.

Both of these came out really well, I think. The "D", of course, was the first in the line (meaning it was the first impression that subscribers and buyers got of the series), and apart from the 1701, is probably the best known Trek ship, with a heck of a lot more surface detail. Given all that, expectations were understandably high, and they did a really great job. Given the scale, it looks REALLY big next to pretty much any other ship but perhaps that's fitting given how big the "D" was supposed to be, relative to most ships.

The NX-01's not bad either. It's pretty much entirely metal, so I think it may surpass the Klingon Raptor as the heaviest of the ones that I've got. It doesn't pop quite as much as the "D", but I think they did a really good job (much more detail than the Johnny Lightning version).

What were your impressions of these two?

Cool. A few months ago there was an error and I had only received one ship. Last week, I called and asked if they could change me to every two week shipping (apparently that is an option), then once it was shipped, I called back to get back to every 4 weeks. Nice to know I won't be really feeling that issue.

The TOS-E Dedication Plaque just came in and it's really a nice-looking replica. I think this is the first one that actually has wall-hanging loops on the back - don't remember seeing it on previous plaques. They may all have them now, dunno. I really love the heavy resin they use to make these things (if that's what it is). They have a nice heft to them and they really feel like they can last a good long time. I was actually comfortable having my 3-year old daughter hold onto it without breaking it (unlike the ship models) and she actually wanted me to hang it up in her room!

That's awesome about your daughter! The others do not have them. The Defiant plaque I just got in the last two weeks. But... it could be a change and the old stock hasn't ran out yet or it's a change they made starting with this plaque.

And now, an update on the ISS Enterprise:

Hi Christopher,

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately we have had some delays in regards to stock arriving for the I.S.S Enterprise, we are expecting this stock to arrive shortly at which point this will be shipped to you.

Please let me know if you did not want to wait and I will arrange for this to be refunded.

I am sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.

If you need anything else, please let me know.

Kind regards

Oliver
