Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I’m kind of glad about that. I’m still trying in vain to acquire a USS Glenn for under $100, with most out there being at least $300. It’s absurd, for a simple repaint, especially considering the base still has “Discovery” stamped on it instead of a special “Glenn” version. Pisses me off every time I see one.

Capitalism, who'd have thunk it.

The Akira XL model is great. It disappoints me that the Thunderchild label has been removed - it was there on the preview version of the model. Now, I'll have to get it printed and pasted on, instead of it being on by default. This was a chance to correct a movie error.

Finally! Just got the notification for the XL Akira release today. Probably see it in my mailbox in another 3 to 4 months... Still waiting on the XL Excelsior and Runabout, in that order.

The Scimitar is actually more akin to a Jem'Hadar ship when you see it on a smaller scale. Nice, I might get it.

you'll see it before us in the US... it probably won't show up for preorder for a while yet and we don't have next day delivery like you. so count yourself lucky, if that's a thing when we're talking about buying pointless shit we don't need...

i'm not one of the people who got a chance to preorder it 6 (8?) months ago, but it's really not a good look for eaglemoss to have made these available at STLV but not honored the preorders people paid for half a year ago now.

Just buy a Discovery and do some cosmetic work on the name and registry.

Well received a "reply" (if you want to call it that) from Eaglemoss. Here was my message:

Hello,
I'm writing to see if I am still on the Star Trek Ships subscription. These two ships were the last things I have received from Eaglemoss so it is going on close to four months without anything charged and shipped to me. My understanding is that this is supposed to be a monthly subscription. I see that Eaglemoss is already selling up to issue #153. The last ship I have received is issue #147 way back in early April. Please find out what is happing with my account. Also, please don't reply with the generic "out-of-stock" email as issues after what I have received are being sold on your website. Please understand my frustration at not receiving my items as promised. I have been a loyal subscriber since almost the very start of this collection and would like to be able to continue as one. Thank you for your time and effort looking into this matter for me.

Regards,

And here was their reply:

Thank you for your email. We do apologize that the next issue is out of stock. It will be sent once restocked. E-shop and membership inventory is separate. It does not mean the issue is readily available because it is able to be ordered from the website.

Kindest Regards,

JB

What a lousy generic reply. Their customer service STINKS!!

Yeah, Tobias has been working with Cryptic on STO since last spring. He made their new Excelsior model, their new DS9 model, the Andrew Probert Ambassador design, and several of their Discovery models and/or their 25th Century counterparts. I think he even designed a ship for them, but I could be wrong about that part.

Got the Voyager and Excelsior concept ships today. I like the Voyager one but the Excelsior is a strange one. Looks like a lollipop

Hmm. Been ages since I played STO (DS9 expansion) since I'm not into chasing loot ships and got my personal fleet up to the level where I could buy decent (but not top-spec) fleet gear and ships. So haven't done AoD (I like expansions I can jump into with my existing toons, rather than ones that encourage me to level a new character). The Somerville looks OK though, although the nacelles could stand to be a wee bit less... ample.

What era is that ship from? Registry and the negative space in the saucer suggests a contemporary of Discovery but those nacelles look very NX-01.

Well not a surprise at all as I just received an email from the E-shop that the Altair has been shipped. Of course the E-shop sends out ships immediately but subscriber ships....

The only one to come out of the Axanar debacle smelling like roses.

Honestly I would rather have a Discovery contemporary ship have nacelles like that rather than those boxy angular things the other ships have.
