I took a class dedicated to American History in High School. Why would you? It’s not your country’s history.
Apparently, that was a Bryan Fuller thing. He really, really wanted the ships to be flat. Doug Graves, one of the VFX artists from the original team, mentions it in a comment on this Facebook album showing orthos of the Clarke before it was revamped by the second VFX team.Sadly, like all DIS klingon designs (except the BoP) so far, it's essentially a 2D-design. It looks very intricate and detailed from the top. But if you look at it from the side - there is absolutely no design in height. None at all. It's essentially just the hull details from the top raised to different levels, but it looks esentially identical from the top or the bottom, and like a completely flat line from the side.
here's hero collector's rundown of the next XL ships, and a couple nice shots of the disco enterprise (again notice it's "star trek the official starships collection" rather than "star trek discovery the official starships collection"):

excelsior is last on the list and labeled NCC-2000 but described as being an experimental ship from star trek III: the search for spock. so who knows which version we'll end up with here?
Hm that link doesn't work for me.
I am logged in. Seems like the page is set to private or something.Looks like Facebook's really getting to be a pain-in-the-ass if you aren't logged in. They'll leak personal details from twenty million users, but God forbid someone without an FB account tries to look at a photo marked "public."
me too, just wish it fit in with the aesthetics of star trek: discovery. or vice versa.I really do like that version of the original E.
It fits fine.me too, just wish it fit in with the aesthetics of star trek: discovery. or vice versa.
I'm not American but I can read a Wikipedia page and have an interest in the Civil Rights movement. It's a pretty famous case. Why would you? It’s not your country’s history.

We were talking about something else. Here it is:
Well, you'll have to take my word on the comment, but here's a rendered video of the model, and I'll attach the orthos (the post specifies they're cool to share unmodified).I am logged in. Seems like the page is set to private or something.
Because they didn't want to use someone else's idea.I want to know why they gave Ezri that instead of the Aventine.
That could be it. I’d like to think that they didn’t know.Because they didn't want to use someone elses idea.
Not a hard concept to understand.
Maybe for you, but not for me.Would have made their season 8 episode better if it was the Aventine.
