Gollum has just announced it's final release date with only 2 month to go, there is hope yet.

The latest edition of PC Gamer has it as the cover game, with an eight-page feature. It doesn’t say much of substance; apparently it has some tricky puzzles.

The site has being updated (I use the term loosely) to a landing page with "coming soon" - they've removed the trailer which hopefully means it's had a makeover.

Fingers crossed they’re not releasing a fundamentally broken game like most other studios. We need more Star Trek games and if this flops, that might be the end of it.

It’ll never be the end. The property will likely just take a nap for a few years. Nothing will be like the 90’s/early 00’s when it comes to Trek video games. That was the Golden Era, which will sadly not likely ever happen again.

Going to definitely see how it pans out with the first users before deciding whether or not to get it myself. I do always hope for the best with such things. Trek gaming needs a win.

It really does.

I do miss the "golden age" of Trek Gaming, IE 2000-2006..Bridge Commander, Elite Force 1 and 2, Armada 1 and 2, Dominion Wars, Fleet Command, etc.

I'd love an open space, exploration-style Trek game, but I doubt any studio out there would spend the required amount of money to produce one. So, I anxiously await Starfield coming in September.

My fever dream is Star Citizen..but Star Trek.

You start with a Shuttle or a Runabout..move up from there..

But the cost of development would not be supported by the dozens of fans it would attract lol
