Game Star Trek Resurgence - new Star Trek videogame announced

Blind fan loyalty will make up a big chunk of sales I bet - it looks fun but mediocre in scale.

I just saw the pc specs on the epic store, a min GTX1080 with a recommended spec of a rtx 2060, all for what looks like a clone telltale interactive game fair, oh and it seems only one screen res is avliable, 1080p.

And just as a comparison, Horizon Zero dawn, the massive PS4 open world game port has a min requirement of a gtx780 and a recommended of a gtx 1060.

So i think this thing is going to be a buggy frame rate all over the place mess, as why else would such high requirements for what looks like a cheap telltale knockoff clone. :shrug:Lol

I think that's the minimum recommended resolution, not the only resolution.

ll for what looks like a clone telltale interactive game fair
The developer making it was founded by Ex-Telltale devs.

But from what they've shown and talked about, it's a lot more interactive and movement oriented than previous Telltale games.

Another actor announced, Abby Trott.

She seems to be primarily a voice actor. If you played Smash Brothers Ultimate, she sung the English cover the main theme.

The Computer's voice is provided by Julianne Grossman, who also voiced Discovery's computer before it became Zora.

We shall see in 5 days, although they usually do not put a screen res down as the pc basically does them all, so i have no idea why they put down a screen res of 1920x1080 as other on both specs, scratching my head at that one.

Specs don't mean anything, they just make them ridiculously high on so many games because they can't be bothered testing every specification or combination.

That, or they just can't be bothered with optimizing games too much these days anymore.
Most games with 'really high requirements' seem to run perfectly fine on my 2019 laptop with Ryzen 2700 and Vega 56 - then again I also have 64GB of RAM in it... so that makes things a bit easier for me.

It may not offer 60FPS in every game on 'high' settings, but it definitely gets close to that on really demanding games. Most other games run at 60FPS or higher.

The trick is to not overdo visual settings. Past 'high' there are only going to be minimal differences in visual quality (which in my opinion makes no sense).
Sure, I'll max out games that I can max out, but otherwise, just set them on 'high' and play away.

I'm on a bang average system and I haven't come up against anything that I can't run on good settings at 60fps/1080p. Yet every game has these wild specs. I rely on digital foundry etc these days.

And the good thing with Steam is that I can refund games within the first two hours if they're fucked or they'll even refund me if the game is fucked in general.

^^Shame it is not on steam then. ;)

Shall we have a little bit of fun.......leave a short review and score of what you predict will reflect how good or bad this game will be.

3/10
A buggy game, with about 3 hours game play, and seeing as it's from some devs from TT, it will have no reply value because the choices you make in the game mean nothing to the ending or outcome.

Be fun to see who gets the closest to predicting this game.

I hope it is enjoyable and enough people buy it.... I think even if we all hate it, we need to pretend to love it to encurage the good old days of Interplay/Activision and 2 games per year!

Captain's log, stardate 2023235: I no longer trust Interplay, and I never will. I could never forgive them for Star Trek Pinball, and It seems to me our mission to accept anything with the Star Trek Logo is problematic at best. Spock says this game could be an historic occasion, and I'd like to believe him, but how on earth can bad Trek game reviews get past people like me? :p

I'm getting it even if it has bad reviews. Just the fact alone that we can roam around the ship makes it an instabuy for me. Plus with so many branching storylines it's gonna be very replayable.

They have various voice actors on Twitter, but no review copies of the game.

I'd have gladly been among the first-day buyers even with all the reasons present to hold off.
So it actually works in my favor that they've dropped the physical release (for now, at least. And probably forever if it's a dud).

Looks naff as hell but could be a lot of fun. Keeping my pre-order.
