Star Trek Receives 17 Scream Awards Nominations

MvRojo

Vice Admiral

Star Trek received 17 nominations for the 4th Annual Scream Awards shown on Spike. The next highest nominated were "Wolverine" and "Watchmen" which each got 13.

I haven't really watched the Scream Awards before, but they did give a special honor in 2007 for the 25th Anniversary of TWOK, and had the surviving original cast members come out on stage and make a speech.

Then i guess Star Trek should have no problem winning all the awards. Then again the thing with awards shows is that they don't matter or makes sense. I mean I think Kid Rock and Linking Park has grammys and they are really crumby. :guffaw:So I guess this is neat. I think just having Star Trek on the show will get Spike some money.

Twilight will win whatever categories it is in because the fans of that particular film are insane. More so than us.

It is good to see Star Trek is popular! Only the 'cool' movies get nominated for Scream Awards.

Spike TV has Twilight nominated? Maybe I'm stereotyping here, but I don't think Twilight fans generally watch Spike too often (or vice versa). However, if it's open to voting, what Flake said may unfortunately apply.

Edited to add: Flake, you are indeed correct. The feed on the site shows what people are voting for at the moment, and the Twilight fanbase seems to be in their usual frenzy...

Twilight will sweep the awards show. Just like it does for every show that is voted for by fans.

The fat-emo Cow Twilight fangirls will spam the voting

Twilight swept the Teen choice Awards and MTV movie awards. Since those were voted online just like the Spike Awards expect Twilight to sweep again

Sorry, Star Trek, but I had to vote for Let the Right One In in every category it was nominated in... except for Best Director, I gave that one to Abrams.

Best Ensamble category had some strong competition, but in the end Battlestar Galactica just edges out Lost and Star Trek.

^I was going to make a smart remark about you being a traitor. Then read your sig line and laughed at the redundancy.

I really hope Star Trek wins. I think Star Trek was the best movie I have seen this year! So my vote is going for Star Trek.In my oppion nothing on that list of nomminies is better than Star Trek. So sorry for you crazy fans of Twilight and Trasnsformers, but Star Trek is better!

Ok, a bit irrelevant but

Best Cameo

Kate Beckinsale - Underworld 3

She had a cameo in that ? I must have been more bored than I thought watching it because I don't remember her at all.
And I love me some Beckinsale.:shifty:

As for the voting, just a couple categories
since I haven't seen stuff like Twillight, the new Harry Potter, True Blood,Let the Right One In...

Best Science Fiction Movie
Moon
Star Trek

BEST DIRECTOR
J.J. Abrams - Star Trek

I didn't see it, but I was surprised as well, so I looked it up.

From Wikipedia:
Provided voice over in the beginning and end of the film and appeared in archive footage.

Not much of a cameo if you ask me.
