Star Trek Production Dates, anyone?

Hey all. Sorry if I missed this information someplace, but I can't seem to find it.

Does anyone know any site or source that lists and actual shooting dates of episodes of Star Trek? I can find the production order well enough, but I'm trying to determine when some events happened and what episode was in production at the time of said events.

Thanks in advance.

The original 1981 edition of The Star Trek Compendium by Allan Asherman (the version with the blue all-text cover) gives approximate shooting dates for most TOS episodes. (As well as a lot of other information that the later, revised editions leave out for some reason.) Not down to the specific day, but things like "Filmed in late June and early July 1968."

Christopher: I think I might still have the first edition of the Compendium. I'll have a look.

mb22: Thanks. I looked there and it might be my fallback if I can't find more specific info.

EDIT: I think I compiled all the dates for the season. Naturally, the specific date I am looking for lands on one of the three episodes that doesn't have shoot-date info, but I'm pretty sure it was Wink of An Eye.

I love the first edition of The Star Trek Compendium, but with regards to shooting dates... it has some errors and it's a bit too vague (at least for me).

Maurice: I've compliled a fairly complete list of shooting dates for the episodes based on a study of about 10,000 different film clips that contain slates. What dates and/or episodes are you looking for?

Keep in mind that the Compendium stole heavily from the Concordance, including some rather blatant errors. And yes, Bjo is still irritated.

Memory Alpha has "filmed middle through late September" for "Wink of an Eye".

Alchemist: I'm trying to confirm the actual shooting order for research I'm doing. I'm building a spreadsheet with shooting dates for each season, starting with the third (as it relates to a project), so any hints you can give me would be appreciated. I'd like to correct Memory Alpha on this matter as well if the dates (which appear to have been taken from the Compendium) are incorrect.

PM me if you like.

PM sent.

CRA: We're currently comparing notes on these to figure out what's what. It looks like, for the 3rd season anyway, the dates on Memory Alpha and in the Concordance are mostly right with a few minor discrepancies and omissions. Will advise once we're done comparing.

For the last couple of weeks, a careful reading of Joan Winston's account of her visit to the Star Trek set during the filming of "Turnabout Intruder" in the old Bantam paperback "Star Trek Lives!" might be useful.

If there's anything you can't find, I might be able to fill in a *few* gaps using the documentation donated by Gene Roddenberry and Robert Justman to UCLA. This stuff is pretty spread out, though, so anything more than a few items would take me longer to find than it would be worth to anyone here, probably.

I've only sampled a couple of boxes with third season files, but I suspect they may actually be more intact than the first two seasons, since Roddenberry's involvement was more or less limited to receiving scripts, memos, etc. and then filing them.

Harvey: Thanks for the offer, as always. :)

I might have some additional questions for you not related to the dates issue. Will a advise.

I suspect when we get closer to the fiftieth anniversary for TOS (2016 for those not quick with the math skills, and our tentative target date for getting the updated edition out), I'll have to somehow swing a trip out to LA to check out these files I've heard so much about.
