Spoilers Star Trek: Prey Trilogy - general discussion thread

Yeah, I hit the K'Nera connection later on and realized I wouldn't want to identify him as such anyway, because I seem to remember he dies in that issue. Canonicity issues aside, I wasn't going into all that for a namedrop. But we did do a "Heart of Glory" nod later on in the first trial scene.

I am pleased to report that the PREY Book 1: HELL'S HEART audiobook is now available for download: http://amzn.to/2lguJb7

I know they worked hard on this one -- I spent hours discussing pronunciations of the non-Klingon words with the production team, while our book advisor from these boards, Felix Malmenbeck, provided audio-file guidance on the Klingon. I know Robert Petkoff, the narrator, is having a ball with this series: book three goes in for narration this week. Books two and theee to release a month apart, I believe.

I enjoyed book 1 and got right into book 2, but i felt book 2 kind of dragged. It took me a few weeks to get through it. But i picked up book 3 only a few days ago, and I plowed through it! Loved it! What a fantastic read. Thanks JJM! I'll be back for whatever Trek book you write next :techman:

Really enjoyed this trilogy and look forward to more of the same(fingers crossed).
Some stories need the extra space and the three book format worked ideally.I found the whole episode at the Klingon keep just so cinematic.
The call backs to Trek history(Kruge etc.) reminded me of the books the Reeves-Stevens used to write.

Cross Cult announced today that they would do German translations in Summer 2018 and posted a cover draft for one of the novels, I assume book one since it is pretty similar to the original cover:

Here's the Cross Cult cover for Book 2, featuring the young Korgh. I visualize that's him in his "Devil Kahless" get-up from the 2293 section.

And, at long last, the audiobook for Book 3 is out today -- and I have an attendant interview about the series at StarTrek.com. (Looks like they misspelled IoghaD's name -- sorry! I have a note into them.)

Been a fun ride, these months since the release; final thing on the Prey front for me will be getting the production notes pages written and on my website, which is always the last thing I get to. Thanks to the audiobooks, I should have an easier time remembering everything!

Where does this trilogy take place in the TNG relaunch timeline? I just started reading The Light Fantastic. Wondering what to read after that.

I have this trilogy, Takedown, and Armageddon's Arrow sitting on my shelf.

I just wanted to say that I loved the use of the notion of sprezzatura. I encountered it during a course in Early Baroque music [Caccini seems to have taken it from Castiglione] and was quite surprised to see it in a Klingon-themed novel!
