Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Picard: We're two years too late... We were supposed to go back to 2022 and change the French presidential election!

Ok, I know, too soon. :vulcan: But literally a lot of the news is about this right now so I couldn't resist the joke, what with Picard being a French character and all.

Totally random, but then that's part of what this thread is for:

I think John DeLancie looks better and healthier as an older man in Picard Season 2 than he did as a middle-aged man in Voyager's "Q2".

I always thought he looked… off in “Q2”. Maybe it was his hair. Or maybe he just looked older. Agreed he looks great now, 20 years on.

From what I’ve observed seems to be an entire “QILF” fandom now - I’ve never seen so many people all over him. I mean he does look amazing, ngl. If I didn’t already have a Trek character I’m 100% loyal to, I might be tempted also… just a little ;)

Still on earth in 2024 until episode 9.
So much for trekking amongst the stars.

Wow that .gif almost looks like it's from TOS but there's no way there's an episode where a bunch of kids take over the Enterprise.. right?:barf:
God how I hate this episode. But its such a great example of the deep mature writing and production of what good Star Trek should be....

What part of these season long stories being one story is so hard for people to grasp. Did people complain bout Voyage Home not trekking beyond the stars. Or for that matter City on the Edge of Forever where the vast portion of the story is set in the past.....

And then next season when they Trek amongst the stars they will complain about THAT
I think they already have...

WTF?

They are throwing everything and the kitchen sink at Picard now.
Please keep watching season 2. LOL

The article headline is pure clickbait. Only at the end of the article do the writers specify that only a certain music instrument, the Blaster Beam, that makes the iconic V'ger sound effect will be in Picard season 3.

I'm baffled by this announcement.

1) Another season 3 announcement in the middle of season 2.
2) An announcement about a specific musical instrument that is going to be used in the next season is strange. Especially when this instrument is associated with a specific entity.

What has Picard to do with V'ger?

This is either a giant spoiler for season 3 or a red herring.
Another attempt at trying to prop up the popularity of Picard season 2 by trying to associate it with The Motion Picture. Especially now when the hype for TMP (good Star Trek) is at its peak because of the recent release of the TMP 4K Director's Edition. Another attempt at leeching on to someone else's success and riding on someone else's popularity wave.

I’m convinced char is just a troll.
Not something we approve of being said out here in public.

No, this is the Picard General Discussion thread. He’s asking about a General Picard Discussion thread, i.e., a thread for discussing General Picard.
AIR, I'd originally named it that, and people made some cracks. Little did they know...

As a kid I never saw the appeal of either VH or CoEF. Even as an adult I intellectually acknowledge their success but don't tend to rewatch them. Them being extremely popular is one of those things that I just accept as given without actually feeling to be blunt, unlike say, First Contact or DS9's later Dominion Wars episodes which I genuinely enjoy.
