Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

My theory:
Q saved Picard from blowing himself up, and thus Q(!!) broke the timeline (and that's why he's sick) - and he's sending Picard on a journey to fix the timeline as a quid pro quo.

So why does saving/blowing up Picard messes up the timeline? Because the Borg Queen is his mother ("look up Picard" - shoutout to superstar Rich Evans from redlettermedia who first proposed this idea), perhaps a variant sent back in time to the farm where she tells little Picard to look in the Stars for her (future/past version) while also fighting the Borg monster (herself) in the cellar. And Dr. Soong (the one from 2024) is therefore of course his father, and the whole thing is about "family" (Vin Diesel grunt)
While this sounds interesting, I hope not because it's too retconny. Besides, Q told Picard he needed to be forgiven and when Picard asked for what, he was told, "I think you know."

I do think Q wants to help him though. He did say he wouldn't let him "do it alone".

Would be interesting if the creators reference COVID-19 through having Q be sick because of what he did to save Picard et al. The universe/time pushed back at him perhaps...

Either that or Q was monkeying around with Earth's past, and his tampering is what ultimately ends up causing Picard to misjudge the situation...
That might also explain why Q seems 'off'.
I think Q intervened at the exact point it happened. He said he wanted to see Picard again and looked around for the nearest
explosion.

I still think Jurati is the Borg Queen aboard Stargazer. The mask definitely suggests it’s someone we know and that the Queen we see in the Confederation is definitely messing with Agnes. There was some line she said to the doc about belonging that definitely seems to be leading to at the very least Agnes being controlled by the Queen.

Some viewership numbers for Star Trek Picard season 2:

US Paramount Plus:
On March 14th, Star Trek Picard dropped out of the Paramount Plus Top 10 after it was on rank 2 on March 11th.
Star Trek Discovery stayed on rank 4 after it was on rank 1, for one day on March 11th.

Last week Star Trek Picard dropped from rank 2 on March 4th to rank 10 on March 9th.

Canada:
Star Trek Picard S02E01 lost at least half its viewership in Canada compared to S01E01.

PIC S01E01: 1.85 million viewers
PIC S02E01: < 0.96 million viewers

"demand charts"

Parrot Analytics nonsense.

The Top 10 charts are from Paramount Plus and Numeris is Canada's main audience measurement organization, Canada's version of Nielsen.

This argument over numbers is a non-starter. Picard's running three seasons, and the third season is already in the can. It's a done deal.

They've made it clear three seasons is it and I'm not expecting more. Maybe they'll make a spin-off show continuing with some characters from Picard, maybe, but that's not the same thing.

"But maybe you won't get that spin-off!" Doesn't matter. I'm fine with checking out after Discovery and Picard have finished their runs. I checked out before when I stopped watching around the Turn of the Millennium.

Yup. The show will run its course and that's the end.
