Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Doesn't say much for PICARD getting more than 2 Seasons I guess.

I don't suppose there are too many folks around who would turn down a chance to create their own material into a TV show.

Picard was originally going to be a one-season show. I imagine Chabon's original planned epic is still there, just with a tweaked ending to allow for more seasons. Maybe he didn't want to tell an open-ended story, and would rather have someone else continue (if need be) when his tale is done.

Patrick Stewart said last year (or was it earlier this year?) that there is enough story outlined for 4 seasons.

They never said it would only be one season, just that’s all what was ordered.

I'm calling it now, it'll end with Picard suffering massive injuries and giving grand deathbed speech, but not quite dying.

To his credit - he managed to hang around for one *entire* season as show runner - an unheard of feat in modern Trek.

A record to be matched by Michelle Paradise once production of Discovery Season 3 wraps in two weeks. And a record that will hopefully be surpassed as soon as the writer's room meets for Season 4.

Go Michelle!!! (but not to another series :p)

i'm sorry i keep watching them, but midnight's edge is saying in addition to chabon leaving the series, picard is in danger following the viacom merger. they're saying the show's performance will determine the fate of the other spinoffs. and while i don't think it's as dire as they want us to believe, that's generally true of franchises like this. so... carry on i guess.

DISCOVERY's performance has already determined whats going to happen with the other shows...
Several more have been ordered and are all being produced for at least one season.
Which includes PICARD.

The only dire thing going on with Star Trek at this time, is the damn fool Yt--Jockeys making chit up as they go along to get eyeballs on their vids.

If anything, the 'merger' will probably bring the Trek movies and TV shows all under one management which can only be a good thing.

It's also interesting how they always seem to leave out mentioning that multi-million dollar, five year deal that CBS gave Kurtzman specifically to develop more Trek.

I believe he still has four years to go.

And when was the last time they were right about something?

IMO Midnight's Edge is the Debbie Downer of TV series rumors who claimed they have 'exclusive, behind the scene inside story' news about the dirt of your favorite TV shows but in reality the 'exclusive news' they brought in are just gossips full of hot air.

They're fun to listen to but are not meant to be taken seriously ;);).

Good news that Picard is getting a second season.:techman:I'll be curious what other TNG actors maybe appearing for the second season.Bring Beverly Crusher back please.

Do we know how many children Riker and Troi have? Just the one boy we hear in the trailer or more?
