I stopped at the episode where they did gruesome things to people in a lab using drills and so forth.

We’re talking about a group of people who created a genetic virus to wipe out all the changlings…I don’t find them torturing the subjects so shocking

    None of that looked gruesome.
Maybe gruesome to a changeling, but it just looks like they were prodding at honey

AND Matalas said that Kirk wasn't coming back on April Fool's day. Also note this same article shows Shatner joking about Kirk's body on Twitter. Shatner is NOT the kind of guy who keeps up on new Trek, I doubt he watches Picard, he can barely remember his own Trek (He couldn't remember the name of the movie that Spock died in at a convention I was at in 2006. Leonard Nimoy who was with him--they were still on speaking terms at this time--reminded him it was Wrath of Khan).

The fact Shatner knows about the status of Kirk in Picard at all... It might not be anything but...

EDIT: Never mind, just realized that the Matalas interview is backdated a week before April 1.

    First, I hate April Fools.
Second, I think it’s legit. Like you said, the interview is backdated a bit.

I am fine with you-know-who not coming back, but I also am equally fine with the stage being set for you know who in the future.

IMO Kirk is "alive"..but maybe not what we think of alive?

I think it's being left intentionally vague, in case someone wants to do something in the future. Like Terry said.

He had a whole checklist of things from the TNG Movies he wanted to fix. I agree with him 100% on all of it. PIC Season 3 is the TNG Movie I always wanted. It's a TNG Movie done right.

    It’s worth noting that:
Shatner has staff who run his Twitter, who may be more clued in to what’s currently happening in current Trek storylines than Shatner himself.

its like a mix of a TNG movie and TNG Season 8, but yeah..I'm fine with it all

There's been times when it is clear he has people who do the day to day posting and times when its he himself posting directly. I think he does tell someone what to post, the idea, but the actual execution, no.

I just wish it didn't involve heaving the Picard S1 cast over the side!

Missed opportunity for Elnor and Jack to get together and compare notes on what a dick Picard is. ;)

"Choose not to be a dick, Admiral."

    "No, Elnor."

Wouldn't that work better with Shaw? I can see the memes now, Elnor with his sword in an action pose with the caption "Choose not to be a dick." Then that one with Shaw holding the fork captioned "No."

I thought about this earlier today. DataLoreB4LalAlton is a metaphor for Picard Season 3. It's a fusion of the TOS Movies, TNG, DS9, and VOY.

TNG and some VOY characters in a TOS Movie style adventure that follows up on major story elements from DS9.
