Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Also as seen in Generations, the Kelvin movies and Disco season 2, and more I’m sure
DS9 is one people keep forgetting.

Sisko is wearing the TNG series uniform when he first boards DS9, and later in Season 4 when he's reassigned to Starfleet Command for that two parter, he switches back to the TNG Series uniform, and everyone (I'm pretty sure, I didn't pay that close attention) at Starfleet command wears the TNG series uniform.

While Generations also used both uniforms like you said, DS9 didn't mix the uniforms like the movie did, they were shown to be separate from each other because Sisko switched to it when he got the new assignment.

The DS9 team only used TNG uniform on officers from Starfleet Command or from a Starship (other than the Defiant).

And that was thrown away when Voyager/Generations came along and also used the DS9 uniform.

Edit: also I completely forgot that DS9 aired along side TNG for a few seasons so yeah, there's also that.
Also Riker showed up in an episode of Voyager, wearing the TNG uniform AND Badge.

You can give the Voyager Riker appearance a pass… time displaced by Q

Lower decks has showed multiple badges in use.

Sure. But that Riker was time displaced, as the new badge was worn on the Enterprise D in generations. And much as I love Lower Decks, I’m not gonna take quite everything in it as perfectly representing the ‘chronology of the future’ because we would need to explain that Q flipped the whole universe into 2.5D and screwed with every humanoids appearance ;) also, it has interesting ramifications for the Trois lifestyle choices.

I just read that article it's probably makes economic sense to film both seasons back back to back as quickly as you can. That's intriguing news about John Delancie in that story.:vulcan:

Because she’s not an Admiral. Picard was wearing the admiral variant, Raffi was wearing the everyone else version.

The flashbacks all take place several years after Nemesis/Lower Decks.

Also the TNG movie uniform is still in service during at least 2380.

...I [was] referring to the gold/yellow uniform design as well, as seen on Raffie or Cmdr. Musiker. It's obvious she's not the admiral.

Rios' Uniform is visible in the show

Trekmovie had a news article about Star Trek Conventions Isa Briones is going to be at the Las Vegas Convention this coming August with alot of other Star Trek actors to celebrate the 55 anniversary of Star trek.

I was listening to The captain's table podcast they Interviewed James Swallow about his novel The Dark Veil. And he mentions there are plans with Pocket books for more Picard books in the future. But he didn't say when the next book will be out or who the next author will be maybe sometime next year . If we're lucky well find out more news soon about the Picard series of books. .He hoped there will be a Novel about Raffi .Since we're getting a Rios novel in August. You can find The captains table podcast page on twitter.

Finally got around to watching Picard. I loved it, I really did, and I'm a tough one to please. It did the impossible, which was to make a story out of the prolonged galactic destruction brought on by writers of TNG, DS9, and the 09 movie, that was hopeful. The secretive Romulans, Riker/Troi family, Data's well data, and of course the remains of the Borg. Having Picard lead a sort of Firefly-esque mission of flawed souls was a great idea, and I'd assume was rooted in All Good Things... Hugh/Seven had glorious returns, and Isa Briones is just flat out to die for. The ending was a bit, well, "expected" if you will, but still satisfying. The whole concept of too much AI has been done over and over in science fiction, but never to this extent in Trek. It was perfect Trek though, because AI is only going to grow to be more of a "question" for human society in the years to come.
