^ Takes me back to TNG Season 1: How do TNG characters deal with TOS stories? So it's like TNG going back to its roots.
I like it better than the fake-out that was Season 7's "Bloodlines" where Picard thought he had a long-lost son, and then it turned out he didn't. Look at it this way: At least they didn't make Jack into a scientist. All Jack has in common with David is a father who wasn't there.
There's a whole ton more I can say about the episode but I'm actively trying to cut down on posting. I've got too many things going on and this place is too much of a drain on my time if I allow it to be.
Other items:
The Shrike is an awesome ship!
I like Vadic even more as a villain more than Chang. Kudos to Amanda Plummer's performance! The daughter has surpassed the father. She's so effortlessly a villain.
Throwing a ship at another ship was something new.
The Ferengi here reminds me of The Penguin in
The Batman. I also like the beard stubble. It really adds that extra touch which makes him look just that much more scummy.
My brother said this, so I can't take credit for this last bit, but this is the first time TNG Ferengi have seemed scary. Which, as he points out, was the original concept for the Ferengi.
Ane One Final Thing: Worf is a total badass!
I haven't read the rest of the posts, so I have no idea why I'm supposed to hate this. But all of you who do are wrong.
