I think that Seven, Elnor and the Borg Cube will show up and save Picard's bacon in the season finale.

Considering how those Romulans reacted to that vision Jurati could claim temporary insanity. I'm not sure why that knowledge made people go nuts though.

Possibly. The implication of "Regeneration(ENT)" was that the Tarkalean drones ejected into space died in the vacuum but we just don't know for sure.
Perhaps they weren't fully Borg yet?
They did look like they were still mostly human.

Possibly. No series or film has ever been firm on just when the assimilation process is "complete," just that the behavior begins almost immediately after implants and nanoprobes modify the biology of the victim.

I guess it's Star Trek "science." Much the same way that the visual wavelengths of the energy composing a Medusan drives unprotected humanoids insane from exposure.

It's far superior technology from 3000 years ago, goodness knows how that chit would effect someones mind.
Rizzo's Aunty "Em" apparently couldn't handle it even though Narissa could..

If a random jumble of sparkling, glowing energy can drive somebody insane and even terminate their nervous system then there's no telling what strange alien technology from thousands of years ago can do. This was a technology that could drag entire stars across space and position them precisely where the subject wants them.

Seems a bit like this again ...

I thought it was a great episode.

- Oh being a half Vulcan-half Romulan works for me.
- The uncovering of Rios' past and how it connected to Soji was pretty compelling.
- I'm glad the theories that the Romulans are all synths and that the Borg were created by Romulans were just bad theories.
- The Zhat Vash's paranoid fear at least made sense. It's like the extreme version of the current worry about the evolution of AI. If they found out that synthetics led to the destruction of massive civilization, it makes sense to be afraid of it and want to eliminate it.
- Looks like the Borg transwarp conduits weren't all destroyed.
- I was REALLY hoping to see Deep Space 12 and whatever squadron is going there...hopefully they show up guns blazing in the season finale!
- Fun callout to Marta Batanides from "Tapestry."
- The Borg stuff was okay...I'm thinking it was just to set things up for Seven to help Picard with the Cube.

Is this going full BSG? Because it kinda feels like it's going full BSG.
I don't think so.
This planet of Data's has existed for many millennia beyond what humans have known.

They aren't really the Enemy.
Even though they are perceived as such.

It's pretty obvious to me from what we know so far, is that the Race from 3000 years previous, panicked for some reason and decide that their artificial creation was a threat.

Marta managed to make a good career for herself. I wonder if Cortin Zweller did or his...ahem...hubris got him in trouble or even killed later in his service in Starfleet?

It's all sounds BSG to me

Cylons -----> Synths
Quorum of Twelve -----> Conclave of Eight
"All of this has happened before and it will happen again" -----> Zhat Vash's prophecy about synths destroying all lives

I assume there's equivalent of the 'Final Five' among the synths too. Characters we have seen in the series that will be revealed as 'secret synths' later on ;);):techman:

The Conclave of Eight are not People, they are suns.

And honestly, what does it matter?
The writers of PICARD are not going to follow the BSG story-line exactly.
Also, Star Trek was doing Artificial Lifeform's long before BSG even came along.

"What Are Little Girls Made Of " even introduced the idea of a Civilization creating Androids thousands of years ago about twelve years before BSG was even thought of.
Ruk even said that the Androids clashed with their Original creators.

Ya know, one would probably enjoy watching TV shows a lot more, if one stopped comparing them to everything else that has come along.
