Star Trek passings

Sad to hear and I never knew he played a Talosian. I did find a pic of him in the episode as the Talosian tho.

Felix Silla was the only male actor to play a Talosian. And yes, he was the one at the end of the forced perspective hallway.

Silla was the first male actor to physically portray a Talosian (Rob Brownstein has since portrayed a Talosian on Discovery), although two of the Talosians in The Cage (Meg Wyllie and Georgia Schmidt) were voiced by male actors (Malachi Throne and Robert C. Johnson, respectively). Making, in a way, about 4 men playing Talosians vs. 7 women.

The character of Irina affected me back then. She was so sensitive and compassionate. I was immediately enamored of her. I was just entering my teen years then and the hippy movement was off to a good start and there was a connection for me.

He was a kid in that episode. 22 yo. Granted a big kid. R.I.P.

Are you 88 years old Grant, to think that 22 years old is a kid?

22 years old is not a kid. 22 years old is several times as old as the median age of death of all the humans who have ever been born.

Geeezuz... no need to rag on someone. I often call people older than me 'kid'. If you don't like it, you politely let them know, privately.

I was going to call him a kid, but decided that Grant had beat me to it. He has to have been one of the youngest full adults to guest on TOS, regardless.

I was thinking the exact same thing -- besides the actual child actors he would be one of the youngest adults to appear -along with Terri Garr, Kim Darby and Barbara Anderson.
EDIT: actually I just checked and only four adult actors were younger than Nathan.
Shari Nims, Julie Cobb, Kim Darby and Deborah Downey.
Also I'm pretty sure that none of the child actors who appeared on Star Trek with speaking lines has passed away which is nice to know considering Hollywood's track record with child actors.
Just realized that John Megna who played one of the onlies in Miri did pass away.

I wwa sable to find an additonal actor younger than Nathan Jung to add ot the list.

Nathan Jung was born 29 November 1946 and portrayed Genghis Khan probably between 16 & 19 December 1968 aged about 22 years & 1 month.

https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Nathan_Jung

Shari Nims (born 9 January 1947; age 74) portrayed Sayana in the Star Trek: The Original Series second season episode "The Apple". She filmed her scenes between Thursday 20 July 1967 and Monday 24 July 1967 at Desilu Stage 1

So Shari NIms was aged about 20 years and 6 months when her scenes were filmed.

https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Shari_Nims

Julie Cobb (born 29 May 1947; age 73) played Yeoman Leslie Thompson in the Star Trek: The Original Series second season episode "By Any Other Name". She filmed her scenes on Friday 10 November 1967 and Monday 13 November 1967 at Desilu Stage 10.

https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Julie_Cobb

So Julie Cobb was aged about 20 years and 5 months when her scenes were filmed.

Patricia McNulty (born 13 August 1945; age 75) is the actress who played Tina Lawton in the Star Trek: The Original Series first season episode "Charlie X".

https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Patricia_McNulty

So Patricia McNulty was aged about 19 years and 11 months when her scenes were filmed.

Kim Darby (born 8 July 1947; age 73) is the actress who played Miri in the Star Trek: The Original Series first season episode "Miri" when she was in her late teens in 1966. Her shapeless costume was intended to hide her figure, since she was playing a younger girl. Darby filmed her scenes between Monday 22 August 1966 and Tuesday 30 August 1966 at Desilu Stage 9, Stage 10, and at the 40 Acres backlot.

https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Kim_Darby

So Kim Darby was aged about 19 years and 1 or 2 months when her scenes were filmed.

Deborah Downey (born December 1949; age 71) is a former actress who, at the age of 18, played Girl #1 in the Star Trek: The Original Series third season episode "The Way to Eden". ...Downey filmed her scenes between Friday 22 November 1968 and Friday 29 November 1968 at Desilu Stage 9 and Stage 10.

https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Deborah_Downey

So Deborah Downey was aged about 18 years and 11 months when her scenes were filmed.

I suspect that Alice Rawlings could have been younger than Nathan Jung when she portrayed Jame Finney in "Court Martial".

I would say it's probable. The character of Jame Finney is supposed to be sixteen, and while there is a long standing tradition to cast older actors to play teens, sometimes they'll go for the younger one in a pinch. You'll just have to check.

Alice Rawlngs doesn't have birthdate in a Memory Alpha or IMDB, and I am not sure where else to check.

Where did you hear that Jame was supposed to be 16 in "Court Martial"? I thought I read somewhere she was supposed to be 14, but I could never find that source. If memory serves me right, my calculations indicated that 16 would have been her oldest possible age, but possibly nobody bothered to be make such calculations when writing "Court Martial".
