Star Trek passings

Pretty ridiculous that Gregory Sierra's agent or publicist didn't announce his death in a timely manner. I read the obituaries all over the place and I saw no mention of his death. He's a pretty important character actor of the last few decades

He might not have had a publicist or agent anymore, since he was retired due to memory issues (per his widow) and that's kind of an unnecessary expense at that point.

I always thought that the publicist/agent had an obligation to announce the death even if the client was retired as a simple courtesy. I mean how hard is it to release a statement after the family has notified you? Most long retired actors get a timely death announcement.

Geez, Richard Arnold has passed away, age of 66. Richard was the man who asked me to become a consultant to Paramount during ST:TNG, answering his questions about what the fans thought of episodes, about actors, scripts, on n on… At first, he called every week but his schedule prevented that from continuing and then it moved to snail-mail, postcards, whatever. At about ten months, he stopped entirely and moved on to work on DSN.
No cause of death.

Richard played the part of a Romulan crewman aboard the Narada in the 2009 Star Trek movie as well as a background crew member in ST:The movie.

I made a sub page on my web page about this, what ten years ago? Star Trek people that had passed. It was depressing. I never finished or published it.

"It is appointed unto all men once to die."

We don't have to like it.

A lot of footage of Christopher Plummer from Star Trek 6 was left on The Cutting Room floor to get the movie to a certain length under 2 hours. One completely deleted scene where the Klingons are being given a tour of the Torpedo Room and a ton of dialogue from The Trial which was cut just about in half in length. It would really be nice if someday in the future Paramount would include deleted scenes for Star Trek 6 and the others as well so we could see some of these performances that certainly weren't cut because of quality but for other reasons.

There was a “making of” documentary that came out back in ‘91 with cast interviews that showed some cut footage. The “state dinner” scene also had a ton of extra footage.

Henry Darrow has passed. Age of 87. He played Admiral Savar on ST:TNG's episode 'Conspiracy'.

Henry Darrow was in a lot of shows. I remember him from the '80s version of Zorro, with Duncan Regehr. Didn't he play Chakotey's father on Voyager?

Not star trek, but scifi.... Yaphet Kotto passed away, age of 81. Played Parker in 'Alien'. What a great role!

Henry Darrow was on more than one Zorro series. He starred as Zorro Sr in the series 'Zorro and Son'. He was the voice actor for Diego/Zorro in animated 'The new adventures of Zorro'. He played Zorro's father in 'The new world Zorro'. Hopefully I'm not forgetting any of his Zorro related roles. He also played Chakotay's father in 'Voyager'.

EDIT - The Zorro series with Duncan Regehr was from early 90s. Duncan Regehr has also been on Star Trek, TNG and DS9.

Henry Darrow was also Gomez' brother in the Addams Family Halloween special in 1978(?). Don't remember the character's name, though.
