Star Trek opening dedication...

I think the film should start with this:

"For forty-one years this story has given faithful service to the Young in Heart; and Time has been powerless to put its kindly philosophy out of fashion. To those of you who have been faithful to it in return ...and to the Young in
Heart ...we dedicate this picture."

Without Googling it, does anyone else know what that's from? I think it fits "Star Trek" well.

From the teaser alone, I have a strong feeling the Great Bird himself is watching over this production.

Paraphrase of the opening from MGM's "The Wizard of Oz," and I did not use anything but my own brain. I didn't even ask my wife.

This is a great way to bum out new fans who show up to give Star Trek a shot by letting them know how old, broken-down, stale, and in desperate need of saving the franchise is.

It's perfect.

"When I was in my early twenties on a trip to East Africa, I saw a gazelle giving birth. It was truly amazing. Within minutes, the baby was standing up—standing up on its own. A few more minutes, and it was walking. And before I knew it it was running alongside its mother, moving away with the herd. Humans aren't like that, people. We may come from the same planet, but we're pretty much helpless when we're born. It takes us months before we're able to crawl—almost a full year before we can walk. Our movie isn't much different. We're going to stumble, make mistakes—I'm sure more than a few before we find our footing. But we're going to learn from those mistakes. That's what being human is all about. Who am I? I'm Johnathan Archer. Enjoy the movie"

Please, how many movies begin with such mawkish dedications?

"Hi, I'll have the medium popcorn and the Pepto-Bismol."

I don't think his afterlife is that pleasant.

Opening Dedication, hummmmmmmmmmm, how about two words ?

Probably something personal that means a lot to the cast and crew:

"This film is dedicated to the fine people at Bruegger's for all the free bagels and coffee they selflessly supplied to us during shooting. We couldn't have boldly gone without them."

Or on another tack:

"To William Shatner. No hard feelings?"
