I haven't had any major issues personally.
The cutscenes are rather buggy. The voices aren’t in sync and they don’t move when indicated.
Just finished the heist mission which was a lot of fun, but I thought the Iconians went back to Iconia which was then put off limits.

I wouldn't call it a bug, but finding that third crystal in the last episode is annoying to find. I found it, but couldn't get to it. Might try later.

T'Ket was still angry after the war, and left to continue her campaign etc. The other Iconian says she'll probably calm down in a few millennia.

I haven't had anything like that

T'Ket ran off on her own at the end of the final episode of the Iconian War, she didn't want peace.

I think they mostly wrote it that way so they could explain why the Iconian PVE queues still existed.

Yeah it's not clearly explained. The third crystal is above the ceiling and you need to use one of those glowing pillars of light to fly up there.

So this is the first STO expansion I've tried at launch -- usually I get around to them a month or so after the fact -- and to be brutally honest, in my nearly 20 years of playing MMOs, I haven't seen a major patch/expansion release with this many bugs.

Are they always this bad?

It's really bad this time because they launched VIL by the skin of their teeth. In fact, the executive producer described it as being like Doc Brown about to send Marty back to the future and the wire snapped and has to scramble to reconnect the wire while the Delorean was zooming down the street.

Just finished the last mission. It ended rather abruptly I thought. It must be coming later that one.
After reading the novels, it is weird playing this without wondering why Bashir isn't a fugitive and why Sisko is still stuck in the wormhole. The latter being rather cruel as it means his daughter grew up without knowing him. At least they fixed Kira in this and didn't keep her a bloody monk. :)

I suppose Enterprise is next. I know Daniels has been in it but it would be nice to properly go back to the 22nd century and interact with that crew. They could even do their take on the founding of the Federation.

So, I played the JemHadar Intro mission.
Not sure I like it after being away from the game for so long.
It feels really dated now and under developed with way too much micromanaging.
It wasn’t a very rewarding Xperience.
Interesting after playing it almost daily for 5 years back then.

Try the next mission. Do be aware Jem'Hadar are not given a tutorial. So straight away, you are thrown into the deep end of the pool.

Poor Sisko. Looks like in STO canon, he’s still stuck in that bloody wormhole.
Eh, blame it on Brooks. I'm sure Cryptic would have loved to use Sisko as well.

I fucking loved the Klingon bits in the final mission. Are they setting up Martok to replace J'mpok?

Looks like Bashir is indeed married with kids to Ezri. Surprised she and the Aventine weren’t in it. I’m still surprised that ship is even in the game since it’s a novel ship and it first appeared in a novel that defeated the Borg. Something that isn’t true at all in STO.

Martok was already Chancellor.

It was highly requested by the fans at the time, but it was also apparently a pain in the ass to get the permission to use because it's a third party design. You can't even 3D print any ships that use its parts, I'm assuming because of the rights.

The game also has the Luna Class (mind you that design is actually owned by CBS) and Mackenzie Calhoun plus a handful of other novel references.

Really? I assumed the design of the Vesta Class was also owned by CBS. It’s still in the game so I assume they can still use it. Hopefully the next arc will feature it. It’s about time too since the Aventine was the first “major” ship you see when you start the game.
Titan was mentioned in Nemesis so they had to use it. It was neat that they kept with Sean Tourangeau‘s design.

Nope the Vesta is owned by its designer (Mark Radmaker). CBS and Cryptic needed to make a deal with him to use the design. According to the executive producer at the time it was apparently a pain in the ass to work out. He didn’t specify how it was hard, I’m guessing determining who gets paid and what not.

I’m not sure what the deal is when using the design on book covers, I assume there is a separate agreement with Pocket Books.

One of the conditions of the Luna class design contest was that CBS gets the rights to the winning design.
