Star Trek Online Discussion Thread - Delta Rising

Yeah, its because of the 3rd person camera the game uses. They've been forced to make every bridge have exceptionally tall cellings.

The annual STO summer event ends on either July 7 or July 14. Star Trek Beyond starts on July 22. So my personal guess is that the expansion will launch on July 21.

Is it me or have they upscaled the TOS bridge, the existing one in the game doesn't seem that large

STO bridges are always upscaled, even the Galaxy class seems bigger than the usual. Also the TOS uniforms always seem to have more JJverse style detail?

There will also be a faction-wide story arc, a la the "Delta Quadrant" arc we saw with Delta Rising.

The summer event generally runs for 6 weeks. It's not on the calendar yet, but something is starting on June 11 (or around that date). It's possible for that date around when Beyond starts.

Also before an after TOS Connie

I think the Connie has a Unique texture from the other TOS ships. It almost matches the studio model, look a the 'panels' and how they line up.

Compare to

Heck, even what windows are lit and not lit match up

Anyone taking bets that this weekend's "big" STO announcement at FedCon in Germany will be Shatner voice overs?

Seeing that Vic Mignogna did the 'kirk' voice over in the announcement trailer my money would be on him doing any kirk VO. Looking at the FedCon guest list I would guess it may be George Takei, or maybe Karl Urban.

No, Vic isn't playing Kirk, it was confirmed on facebook by Lisa Hansell from Continues. though shes a Make up artist/supervisor, so I dunno why she would know. The post is deleted now.

I don't see any of the other actors being 'big' announcements, no offense to them.

Shatner would be too expensive, unless CBS is going to pay for him.

IIRC, the quote was "Biggest announcement yet" so bigger then the Expansion and anything else so far.

"Biggest announcement yet" is probably just marketing nonsense. No way they have the budget for Shatner or Stewart, or any other actor anyone would care about.

Random speculation but next year is TNG's 30th Anniversary so I wonder if that will be a theme next year as a cople of years ago it was Voyager and this year TOS?

We have Michael Dorn as Worf and of course loads of TNG ship designs. They have Q but not yet John deLancie so I wonder if they'll get him in maybe with some other characters? Admiral Riker (would he be a bit old?! The character, not Jonathan Frakes :p ), Captain Crusher/LaForge, a 100 year old Ambassador Picard?!
