There is a rumor going around on reddit, from a 'FedCon Guest Pass image' that
William Shatner and T6 connie are going to be announced
If true then I'm very very glad, it's the 50th Anniversary so of course they would want Shat at some point! An image of Captain Kirk on the website 'he's back'? Irrisistable. And for the 40th he did a couple of other games so he'd want to contribute somehow. i wonder if he interacts with Daniels or older Chekov/Scotty?
I wonder if the other crewmembers will get voiceovers - Takei? Nichols (she recorded lines for a fan audio just before Christmas with Walter)? I think they could getaway with Karl Urban as McCoy

So a lieutenant is promoted to captain of a ship after helping to save said ship and the previous captain gets bumped up to admiral. I wonder where I saw that one before?

I wonder who voices Spock? Maybe they got Nichelle in for a day, but it sounds like quite a fresh story for the cast of that era, which I love.

So the new UI was shown at FedCon. Will be interesting to find out more about this and how will work.
Yeah, colour me unenthused.
Sounds like it's not going to be cross platform play either. To be honest, the whole thing sounds like a huge and potentially expensive mistake. The only upgrade to the game's ancient engine will be improved lighting. The UI will supposedly be modified so a controller can use 45+ tray clickies. The game is still incredibly buggy and laggy (and it's not all the UI's fault, though a large part is). Even on PC there are a large amount of empty queues.
If it is cross platform play then that's different and the port may make *some* sense.

As a console gamer I'm thrilled that it's coming to consoles, but at the same time it's a little annoying that we are basically just getting a port of a six year old game. I hope we at least can cross our characters over. I only played for a couple weeks, so at least starting over wouldn't be as much of a pain for me as it would be for someone who's been at it for years.
