Timelord, how is it with the threat? Someone on STO forum said something about threat becoming now a passive skill gained through unlocking, so unavoidable if one puts a certain number of points into the tree. Seeing the new skills "live", can you confirm it?

Threat Control is now a switch that can be toggled between increased threat or decreased threat. In other words regardless if you want to be tanking or to avoid tanking, you pick this same skill.

Another thought I had...

It might be a good idea to take screenshots of your characters' current builds and stats to have a template to replicate it with the new skill system, once that goes live.
Unless you have really good memory for where everything goes.
And since you can't, at this time with the current tribble build at least, shovel skill points around a bit before you click purchase, you should make beta builds on tribble before you commit to a respec (of which the first is free under the new system.)
Right now, you lock in every skill point individually permanently. So one point spent wrongly means an entirely new respec is needed to correct the mistake.
I hope they change that to be honest, so one can click multiple skills before spending points on them if multiple skill points are available.

And it would be really nice to have a preview window that shows you how each point spend affects your base stats.
Primarily because I usually have no idea how many points in each skill I really need to have the desired effect or until I hit a cap.
Let's say I have gear that boosts my kinetic resistance already to a fair degree , like 40%, I might only need to spend 1 skillpoint to get to 50%. I either don't need anymore or I can't have anymore because it is capped at that point. But the system might allow 2 skill points spent on kinetic resistance. So the second point will go unused, but I won't notice that because I didn'T see how the first point already maxed out the skill.
This is just an example with random numbers, probably does not reflect actual game stats, just the principle.

Where do I copy my character to Tribble? I used to have my main over there, but I just did the Tribble update and I have no characters and definitely won't be leveling up on Tribble.

Character transfer is turned off for now. Either wait till they turn it back on again orplay through the tutorial and then fly to Drozana and get free XP packs to level up to at least 50.

they have switch the character transfer back on, I copied an up to date version of my main alt over today.

from arc, select the top right menu. choose the manage account option, then select games and then character transfer page under star trek online.

I used tribble for the first time today. Interesting seeing the new skills tree. Copied two of my toons over. Might do more later. Gonna craft some boff manuals, for a few that I could sell in the future.

New TR-116 model incoming

What type of weapons do the Vaadwaur ground forces use? They are kicking my posterior, so I want to adjust my equipment accordingly. Any suggestions on what equipment to pick would be welcome as well. I took an extended break, and have forgotten most of the details.

One thing that has helped me is fine tuning the Boffs I bring along. I bring one Sci and one Eng with the following powers

Sci
Medical Tricorder I
Medical Tricorder II
Vascular Regenerator
Nanite Health Monitor

Eng
Shield Recharge I
Shield Recharge II
Reroute Power to Shields I
Reroute Power to Shields II

They help my survivability a great deal by constantly buffing me.

Guy from a pretty well known PvP fleet pugs The Breach Normal with me. He goes through the trench run then he intentionally gets his ship destroyed and does not respawn immediately. Instead, he waits till we destroyed the primary power core before he respawns and dashes through the exploding ship with the rest of the team.

Question: My Romulan Tactical officer wants the green Romulan environmental suit. How does one attain it? On the flotilla? Lobi? Dropbox?

I also see players with the Federation environmental suit from the Picard/Sisko/Janeway era, but I don't know how they attained those.

Also, is there a ENG or TAC equivalent to the Photonic Fleet that the SCI officers get? If not, I'm going to have to do some dabbling as I get my characters leveled up on things.

I believe those are subscription perks.

I'm not sure about the Romulan env suit, but the TNG one used to be purchasable from the C-Store. However, it has since been removed from the C-Store and only veterans can get them.

So I decided to try out the full Delta rep space set on one of my Sci characters. Anyone try this? I think I'm liking it as I seem pretty hard to kill. I have them all leveled to mk 14 and I've been playing around with the isokinetic cannon. Does Aux effect that weapon? Whats the opinion on the cannon?

The weapon set or engine/deflector/core/shield set?
I think it's the weapon set that come with the cannon, in which case, I run that with matching weapons all at mk xiv and it works out fine on my guardian. I recently put in the new Polaron set from the episodes alongside it, but that's likely a mistake tbh. The neutronic torpedo is nice but too colourful and flashy, and the yellow is at least a golden yellow and therefore feels sort of canon on a ship like the guardian.
