Well, typical... just when we are on the verge of unlocking the skill respec contact on the starbase.

Let's see if that contact becomes redundant just like the crafting station. We will not slot the unlock project until the new system is live.
I think the contract will still be used. Read a little of what is happening on the forum.

I knew the skills revamp had been coming for a while, as it's been talked about on forum and some podcasts. Will be interesting to see when it's live.

There will still be respecs in the new system. There is a button on one of the screenshots.

Plus they sell respecs in the C-Store don't they? I can't see them getting rid of a source of money.

And it won't be going live until later in the spring, so probably a couple months.

Actually it has been said, respecs will be part of the ui directly.
In other words the contact becomes refundant, same as crafting stations.
So another project we won't do.

First off I'd like to give a hello to all, this being my first post and all. Now what that out of the way we return you to your regularly scheduled post.

Just played my second time through the Time and Tide 6th anniversary mission and it got me thinking. Maybe New Khitomer is the planet found in the Voyager episode Prophecy. It's at least the same quadrant and there is little information on NK itself. The Klingons (at least some) have joined the Federation by 2769 so using a planet they colonized wouldn't be out of the question.

Right...... What am I doing wrong? I started a new character, got the rank 30 just now, and I've promoting my bridge officers all the way. Now, for the rank of Commander, I can't seem to get the Elisa Flores character to use the Torpedo Spread skill, where you can fire 5 torpedoes at once. What am I doing wrong?

you have to go to stations on your character UI menu, set the officer at the station you want him at. Make sure the station is high enough rank for the ability you want to use.And then click on the correct slot on the right side to set the space ability from the selection below.

Oh crickey, the station has infuence.... right. I think the tactical station in this ship now is lieutenant rank..... Crap.

STO Implies that the Federation using the Annorax caused the Sphere Builder faction to exist because we wiped most of them out when we changed the timeline, and they're angry.

We are partly to blame for Season 3 of Enterprise.

I started dabbling with the new skill system on Tribble.
So far I think I like it.
The biggest change is that you do not hav to put up to 9 points into any given skill anymore. Every skill stage is worth the full 9 points. Some of them are devided into 3 stages like for example weaponss training 1-3. each stage is worth 3 skill points under the old system.
Every level you gain a skill point now.

Some skills have become passives which you unlock automatically if you invest enough into your career, though you will have to decide on either or, but that includes some entirely new skills.
So you can either do what you always did or play around with some entirely new build options.

One thing to note, if you want to gain the ability to learn certain bridge officer training training manuals you should plan ahead and take a look at which skills unlock which training manuals.
Those are spread around all 3 skill trees . So to unlock some manuals your tactical captain has to excell in science or engineering skills.
It is impossible for one character to learn all training manuals for his career.
The idea is probably to incentivize alts or exchange use.
Personally I will give some of my unused alts a new role.
When we get our free respec I will use 6-9 of them solely for manual crafting, not sure how many I will need to get every manual there is.
