Cryptic needs to have a look at this video on how to design STO to avoid it being a boring grind.

Great, now all I can think about is how this game has trained me and how much I hate that thought.... oh well!

Quick question all.

I just got the delta alliance combat armor of my delta sci... I don't see how I can display it. Or having it show over my uniform like I used to be able to do with the maco set (but now on checking my main I can't... odd) . I tried the tailor, nothing. Right clicking it doesn't show the display setting. Can this armor (or any other now) display?

Under uniform there is a tab to the side that says uniform, click on it and an option for the delta armor should show up. This also lets you customize the armor.

Sorry, it seems this is my moment to be thick...

I click on the uniform tab but see no "uniform" button. I see fleet uniform... then upper, badge, hands... still not seeing it. I usually try youtube but this one is eluding me. Does anyone have a screenshot?

When you are on the tailir where you customize your uniform there is a dropdown menu to select the unform type: uniform, off duty, etc. if you have unlocked the delta alluance armor it should show up there. You need mire than the armir, though. You need to collect the whole set, shield and one of the weapons included.

T2 Research lab is complete.

Enjoy the new gear.

I slotted the next R&D contractor upgrade allowing all members another daily R&D doff assigment.

At this point we need a bit over 500 research lab provisions, 2393 industrial replicator commodities and almsot 1700 fleet marks to complete it.

i have full confidence in you, that this won't take long. :)

It is done, just donated the last few fleet marks required :)

Interview with STO's executive producer...
http://news.mmosite.com/content/201...ith_star_trek_online_executive_producer.shtml

What I find most interesting is 2016 missions will be centered around time travel. Dare I say "Temporal Cold War"?

Ugh, so they're cutting another arc down to just 4 episodes :scream:

As a player, I agree. But as a foundry author myself, I also know it takes me a year or more to just produce one single foundry mission. And the level of difficulty raises dramatically when its a chain of missions. I'm already 2 years late in delivering part 3 of my foundry series, and I'm still stuck trying to write its story!

So I can't really blame Cryptic for being slow in coming up with featured episodes.

And yet when they did the Kingon arc they didn't feel the need to cut it down to the bone, and its worse for Klingon and Romulan characters because they only got the bare minimum of episodes to level up to 50 to begin with and now 3 of them are going away.

I just started playing this for the first time today. I played up to the stop at Earth Spacedock after fighting the Borg at Vega, and so far I am having a blast. I noticed as I was looking through the episodes/missions that it had all of the different storylines or seasons or whatever they are, so does that mean I can jump past the Klingon War stuff and go right to the Delta Quadrant?
EDIT: Just thought of one more question, when do I get to change ships or do I stick with a Miranda class the whole time?

You can skip episodes if you meet the level requirements for thenext mission, but i would not recommend it if it is your first time through.
In fact, don't rush it at all.
take your time, maybe do a few patrols, too, if you come to a system that has one, maybe a few foundry missions (those are player athored ones), some of them can also be accessed through several star systems.

And if you want some company feel free to give the TrekBBS Armada a shout in game though our game chat channel: TrekBBS Subspace Com

You can also join our fleet if you like. the more the merrier.,

You'll move through ships as you reach each new rank. It moves pretty fast, you won't be in a Miranda for long. In fact, recommend NOT buying any ships until you get up to at least level 50. You move through them fast enough that unless you want one for a vanity thing or role playing, you're just wasting money.

You could spend money on the Enterprise NX-01, but 2 missions later when you can get a more powerful ship, you'll move on and never board it again, so why bother? If you're planning to buy ships, wait until you can get to T6 or T6 level ships, so you have a chance of getting use out of them for a while...

The] ones I'm really interested in are the Sovereign, Vesta, and Titan classes. I'm thinking as powerful as those are it will probably be a while before I can get one of them.

With the exception of the vesta you can get one of those for free at level 40.
There is a C-store and a fleet version of the Souvereign, but it might be a good idea to hold out on all 3 ships, they are bound to get a T6 version at some point.
vesta and Luna (Titan) class ships are for science and not exactly the most powerful in conventional terms, though the Vesta has some bells and whistles that make it probably the most powerful science ship on the block, at least at t5.
