it shouldn't be, at what level are you playing and is your team set up with level appropriate gear. Doesn't have to be epic or something like that.

There are probably just minor tweeks needed, nothing that you don't have access to

What do you mean with level appropriate gear? And I'm level 57.

if you are level 57, level appropriate means generally Mk XII gear. blue gear should do well enough and is really cheap.

Hm.... I don't think I have lot of Mk XII gear, but I'll look into it later.

Cryptic just announced Season 11, which will feature the end of the Iconian war and most notably the new Admirality system where you finally command your own fleet, namely all those mothballed ships in your ship roster.

Sounds interesting at least.

The Star Trek Online team is pleased to announce the epic conclusion of the five-year Iconian War story arc with Star Trek Online: Season 11 – New Dawn!

New Dawn will rise out of the grim wartime tale to introduce an all-new story focused on rebuilding and hope. Discover a previously unknown civilization and uncover the mystery of a strange traveler from another time. New Dawn also sees the return of Chase Masterson reprising her role as Mirror Leeta from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, a returning member from the large stable of Star Trek franchise actors.

Along with new lore and story progression in Season 11, Star Trek Online will also be updated with new gameplay options in the form of the Admiralty System. Take command of your inactive starships to complete dangerous assignments and gather exciting rewards, while advancing your influence in the Admiralty campaigns. Within this system, each starship is given special traits and stats that must be used to successfully complete assignments. Plan carefully which ships are sent on which assignment in order to meet their requirements and offset various hazards, in an effort to yield great rewards across any of three separate campaigns.

There is so much new and exciting content that we can’t wait to show off! Stay tuned for more information about Star Trek Online: Season 11 - New Dawn!

I've found a reason to play STO again!!!

Coolness. I knew there would be some sort of an announcement.

Watched the panel from LV. Epic what is coming. And here is the trailer.

Seeing no one has mentioned yet anything from the STLV panel here a summary of things that have been hinted about for season 11.

First of all there is the Return of the Mirror Universe, In the mirror universe they too have had an Iconian war. but did they win or loose (I say lost), and now they have created a beachhead in the badlands trying to cross over into our universe with there fleet admiral leeta

There will be 2 new queue missions centered around DS9, and a new space battlezone in the badlands.

While not mentioned specifically with all of this going on around DS9, could they also be revamping the cardassian arc and DS9 interiors to be more screen acurrate?

Additionally they mentioned a new enemy race from the series that is coming to STO that we don't currently have (Mirror Universe Klingon/Cardassian Alliance maybe?)

  • There will be a new villain that has been on the show, but never seen in STO.
  • There will be a new "battle for Deep Space Nine" space and ground queue.
  • Cardassian storyarc will be revamped and provide the back story for much of the new content.
  • Skill revamp is not for Season 11, maybe Season 12.
  • DS9 interior map is getting a revamp, but will not be ready for Season 11.
  • The admiralty system can be described as an "extension" or an "evolution" of the doff system, but has very different rewards.
  • The admiralty system will allow you to acquire/send ships on missions, even though you do not actually own the ship. Al Rivera gave "The Enterprise" as an example, like a "gold foil card" playing card.
  • Mission failure will result in damage to ships, and larger ships take longer to repair than smaller ships. You can pay dilithium to speed up the repairs.
  • We will definitely see Tholians, and there is a very important reason why. Tholians are attracted to MU/time travel rifts. Tholians do not see a difference between our universe and the mirror universe.
  • We probably won't get missions where the choices we make effect what happens in future missions, because it would be "really hard in an MMO" and they would not be able to sustain the content they are doing on a regular basis. It would create a "snowballing" effect and create much longer development time.
  • Development is almost finished for Season 11, and they are about to start working on the next update after that.
  • Feline supplement provides Catians a huge buff.
  • There will be a new rep system associated with the Mirror Universe. It involves technology from "House Pegh" episode.
  • Al doesn't foresee Tier 7 ships on the horizon, there are still a lot of T6 ships they want to explore.
  • New assets will continue to be added to the foundry, but they don't have any current plans for new features.
  • Regarding lag, they have identified a few areas where they are likely problem spots that they are trying to address. There is no "magic bullet".
  • A banner fell on the hosts heads, it was funny.
  • Armada system bug fixes are in the works. They want to allow a cross faction Armada in the future, but no ETA.

From what I have been reading of the Admiralty system, its sounds quite limited. Each inactive ship you own will be "represented" by a "ship card" in the Admiralty system. Only the ship's tier, class and rarity matters. Whatever gear you put on your ships will not affect the Admirality mission's outcome.

Yeah, it doesn't even matter if you own any ship cards. You can get them from elsewhere, too. Just buying/owning a ship seems to come with a corresponding free card.
The best cards will likely be even totally different cards of hero ships like the Enterprise.

Doesn't really have anything to do with our unused ships.

It's just a trading gard's game very similar to the doff system.

Wow... so they took an idea everyone has been begging for and executed it in the lamest way possible.... typical...

Very excited for the DS9 missions and admiralty fleet command feature. But one thing that got to me:

Mission failure will result in damage to ships, and larger ships take longer to repair than smaller ships. You can pay dilithium to speed up the repairs.

From a roleplaying standpoint, I think this could be a neat addition, though somewhat mitigated by those who are dilithium-wealthy. We'd be sure to take better care of our ships then, rather than simply charging in and blowing up over-and-over again.

It's not from a playing standpoint, though. It's like when your DOFF mission fails and the guy starts a sickbay mission instead. The ship will just be out of commission longer if it's on a failed mission.

The glass cannon gameplay will continue

The idea has merit, though, that if your ship gets too damaged, you actually have to put it into drydock for some time forcing you to switch to a different one for the duration.

In the upcoming Firefly Online they have this wear and tear system, where your ship starts degrading over time.
if the wear gets too much, it can break down in the middle of space leaving you vulnerable to pirates and Alliance.
You can repair it if you have scrap on board, if not you have to send a signal and hope it gets picked up by a friendly, not reavers. :)
