I'm at 56 as well, but midway through the Dyson Sphere stuff, and still need to the Delta Quadrant season. So hopefully I'll be at 60 by then.

not that hard to level up, although definitely slower than normal from 50-60. Just play the missions, and DOFF the hell out of the system while doing it. Pretty high-value DOFF missions in the DQ

Level 60 will come. I hit level 50 on my delta recruit tonight. Slowly working through the Cardassian missions. I have only one character that will be able to the new content, as I got him to tier 5 on all the reps over the weekend. It takes time. Don't worry about it.

Can someone help me?

I just started the mission Surface Tension, where I need to travel to the Jenolan Sphere, and then go to the Conference. Where exactly is the Conference? In the Sphere I have three options:
Exit the Sphere
Go to Delta Joint Command
Return to Alpha Quadrant

What do I do? I went to Delta Joint Command center, nothing there. Well, plenty there ofcourse, but nothing about a conference.

I reached Kobali Prime today. Before that the Vadwaur destroyed me like 10000+ times in saving Kobali captains. :wtf: I just could not take that artillery behemoth.

Leave to the Alpha Quadrant. You should be deposited next to the gate, and there you should be "Begin "Surface Tension" or whatever the wording is.

I recently managed to get one of my toons to 60. The double xp week made it only a moderate pain in the ass. I think I might just give up on my other toons until or unless they balance out the 50 to 60 levelling. It's just freaking ridiculous as it is.

Seems bizarre to me that they're encouraging creation of new alts when getting to 60 with just your main is such a chore.

It's iffy playing an Engineering character after relying so much on Science 'powers' to get myself rejuvenated...lol

My Delta character, a half-human/half-Vulcan character is currently at fifty-something. She - yes, another 'she' - has an assault cruiser which I'm enjoying w/it's particular ENG powers (e.g. something to deflect shield dissipation). And, even before that, I was enjoying the Celestial-class vessel.

While I don't have my triage and other medical powers as aforementioned, I do like creating land mines and quantum mortar launchers...and phaser cannons. I just have to keep myself and my BOFFs filled with large hyposprays.

I was thinking about creating an Andorian or Romulan tactical officer....but I've found I like the toys the science and engineering characters have to play with. I did have a Romulan tactical before, but I deleted that character since I wanted to focus on my Fed science character.

I may create an Andorian or Romulan science or engineering character later.

I keep going back to my Ambassador class ship. I used the Wells class for a while (timeships are cool), but nothing feels as solid and secure as my Ambassador. It's a shame it isn't available for upgrade.

Have you considered a Guardian cruiser?
It basically is a T6 version of the Ambassador. The design is mildly inspired by the old Probert design, though you can't swap skins beteeen the two.

Nah, I don't want to spend that kind of money for a ship. I've done that a few times, and I've promised myself not to do it again, because I don't use them. Any time a great looking ship comes along (like the Concorde Class *rowr*), I force myself to remember my past transactions:

I paid $20 for the Excelsior class back when it first came out, though I ended up playing it a long time, right up until the Ambassador class ship came out.

I paid $20 for the Galaxy class when it came out. I like it, and I play it from time to time, but for me the best console and station slots are on the Ambassador. So I only bring out the Galaxy class retrofit when I want to fly around looking pretty (she really is pretty).

I paid $20 for the Galaxy-X class ship, and I played with it twice before moving on. It was awful. It's not even in my ship inventory anymore, and I don't even know if I can recover it or not.

I paid $25 for the Tactical Odyssey class, and I've barely used it since I got it. It just doesn't perform well for me.

Same for the Tactical Escort class. Paid for the ship, and the DS9 pack (a grand total of $43), and I rarely use it, as escorts don't really match my playing style.

So I've been burned a number of times. I like STO, but they've got enough of my money. It figures, though, that the best ship to match my playing style was the one they gave away free, after I sunk all of that money into the other ships.

Do you mean the Tier3 or Tier5 Ambassador?

Tier 5.

There is always the exchange route to use dilithium to get the zen for the ship.
Ooh, about that: it takes me forever to gather dilithium, as I don't really have a lot of time to play. It takes me about a week to get a few thousand dilithium together. Imagine saving up roughly 200,000 dilithium for a ship.

I figured as much, about the Tier5. I honestly can't remember if I have the 3 or the 5, should check.... I think 3.

As for dilithium, I'm the same. I play this game to unwind for an hour or so in the ST universe. I don't do all the extra stuff for huge amounts of energy, xp, dilithium and whatnot. I think I've got around 60.000 dilitium on my current character, who is at level 56. So yeah....

Playing my tier5 Escort, the Prometheus class. I guess that's why it takes me a little more effort at times to finish episodes, but oh well, it's still fun. And that's what matters I guess.

It should still be there. Any ship that you buy can be claimed by other characters if you wish to use it again.

That was the first ship that I ever brought. Until I got my Benthan last year, it was the main ship I was using on my main. Just yesterday I pulled it out for my delta recruit, as she hit level 50. Thinking about upgrading sometime in the future to the fleet version.

Out of the four ships that I've brought, three are being used. With only the Defiant not being active at the moment. Thinking making a Trill Engineer before Delta Recruitment soon.

Flying the Prometheus was fun. I had one for a while, but when it came to where I had no more room (I was a huge collector at first), I had to get rid of it. It even had an awesome black skin (which I still have) that I paid extra for. I forgot about that one. I may have to save up dilithium again just to have one to fly around.

I didn't see it last time, but I could have simply overlooked it. I'll check again.

I guess my brain just can't adjust to escorts as well as others can. I'm a cruiser guy all the way. The Ambassador is a nice combination of offense, defense, and maneuverability. I think it's just a well rounded ship. Plus, I wanted them to make one so bad when the game first launched, and when they did, I latched onto it right away. :D

Fair enough. But if you don't mind the slightly different design and have some money or dilithium to spare (you can always both to diminish the cost) the Guardian is the right one for you.
It can emulate the Ambassador's performance perfectly and gives you the following extra:

Ship mastery
A ship trait
Extra hull/shields
A unique console
A tactical LC ability in addition to the science LC
A universal ensign (Ambassador might have this, not sure)
A hybrid boff seat Lt. Engineering/Intelligence
Upgradable to fleet level for another console slot and another 10% in hull/shields.

The only thing missing in my opinion is the costume pieces of the classic

Ok, I checked. Ambassador has a lt universal instead of the lt eng/intel and a tac ensign instead of a universal ensign.
And a 1.1 shield mod instead of the 1 the guardian has. But taking the shipmastery and leveling ability to level60 and fleet version into account the guardian still trumps the ambassador's shields.

That's certainly something to consider. I'll have to think about it. Thanks for the info, Timelord.
