But I must say I was not that hip on Legacy of Romulus. I know that may come as a shock to some but I honestly felt that it borrowed some stuff that was from Battlestar Galactica with a Star Trek overlay which was a bit.... meh to me, not that taking inspiration from other franchises is a bad thing (Star Trek honestly does it all the time), but what this storyline did was make it obvious, to me at least. I respect the idea of taking ifrom BSG (I did say that the next Trek series should take a hint of inspiration from BSG in the Future of Trek subforum.), but there is a different from complete copy pasting BSG and emulating the feel and tone of BSG.

I thought Legacy of Romulus was more Star Wars actually, right down to Hakeev filling the Darth Vaderish role

Plus the D'deridex fits the role of Imperial Star Destroyer very well.

Yeah, I don't see much Battlestar Galactica in it, either. BSG is all about the struggle of these displaced people to find their new home. The Romulans do that within four or five episodes and then go right back to Star Trek stuff.

Refugee's of an alien world trying to find a new home and trying to find peace ant tranquility by escaping the brutality, the conquest and subjugation of their way of life by their captors by going on in a flotilla fleet with spy's all around and traitorous acts left and right causing the inevitable downfal; to which the refugee's must rise against and create a new legacy.

If you asked me what that description was between Legacy of Romulus and BSG, I would not be sure to tell the difference.

I always thought the D'deridex fit more of a Cylon Basestar than an ISD, but then again in the classic series they did fufill the same if not similar type role.

does anyone have the story on Architect? is that something you have to get up to a certain level to use or acquire or will that be instantly available to all? also when does it launch or has it already? I'm new to the game having just started my tutorial mission today and I'm stuck in space against a Klingon ship my captain just died leaving me in command and I could really use some assistance on what I'm supposed to do next.
Michael Kramer currently in Command of the USS Serizawa*

*Named for the famed Japanese scientist Dr. Daisuke Serizawa inventor of the Oxygen Destroyer. Dr. Serizawa died using the Oxygen destroyer to kill the mega-dinosaur known as Gojira (aka Godzilla). Due to the horrible potential for the Oxygen Destroyer to become a new weapon of Mass destruction even greater than the then Ultimate weapon (the Hydrogen Bomb), Doctor Serizawa, a humanist, elected to destroy all of his notes on the Oxygen Destroyer prior to it's use. then chose to become the only human to die from the use of that invention as he unleashed it against Gojira.

The Romulans do that within four or five episodes and then go right back to Star Trek stuff.

And it only took that long because most of the time they were trying to recruit some more allies before they could spare a ship to go planet hunting.

So in 6 months we're getting the Dominion to join in our war effort?

Is there some news to that effect? I would think Borg would be more likely. They're by far the most iconic Trek villain after the Klingons and Romulans.

We've killed the Borg Queen, which either threw the Borg into disarray or freed at least a large number of Borg. And we've allied ourselves with the Liberated Borg in the Delta Quadrant.

Add the rumors that Cardassians would be the next playable race, it seems logical that the Dominion would be involved.

I just played Delta Flight mission and I laughed a little when I realized they used my foundry mission idea of introducing a brand new bridge crew by getting you to talk with each of them before the actual mission begins.

Looks like Cryptic is pissing off some of the player base, again:alienblush::

And "starship emotes" AKA giant floating spacehands to our ships?!!? I must say that is a pretty stupid/silly idea:cardie:
First of all it is very immersion breaking and secondly something that people can use to spam around. I really hope they restrict its use to sector space alone, so we do not have to see floating space smilies near ESD.

On more positive note, seems they are finally fixing some of the lag from the game in todays patch. Maybe I can do STFs again finally:) I am happy about that.

Oh well, there goes my stockpile. I wasn't going to have to grind a summer or winter ship for another 3-4 years, now gotta start over. At least I'll help fill out my spec tree as part of the trade, don't mind having done the grind for that...

So a further change to event rewarded ships is coming.

Due to player feedback the devs have decided to make every rewarded ship from summer/winter event any of your characters have ever earned or will earn available to the entire account through a vendor.

For all you vets that means you can go to that vendor with any new character and just pick up the old Breen and Risian ships as long as at least one character on your account has earned them before.

This should also mean that they are re-claimable, which means you can delete the old unopened boxes from your inventory or make room on your ship roster if you don't actively fly those ships atm.

Lockbox ships and one time rewards like the anniversary ships will not be made available this way afaik.

As this works for any future ships this will be a cheap way to get some starship traits for free on any character.

Cool. So, so the first DS9 actor makes an appearance( since Chase Masterson, of course).
I hope they put him in command of the Defiant, like he's supposed to be sorry, Kurland!). ;)

Anyone else getting impatient with the release of the T6 Defiant?

It is the ship I was waiting for for my Delta Recruit engineer.

Engi in Escort is one of my favorite combinations.

And it will complete my triumphirate of Tac in Galaxy, Sci in Intrepid, now the Engineer in Defiant.
On KDF Side I have another Tac in a Bird of Prey (not sure if I need a T6 for her)
And another Tac on ROM side with a D´Deridex.
Can't get more iconic than that.
