Star Trek Online Discussion Thread - Delta Rising

I started playing the PS4 version this week. I tend to be a console gamer, so I'm finding it a lot easier to just jump in that I did on the PC.
Does anyone know if there's a way to make the text that pops up over people's heads bigger in the console version? I have 40 something inch TV and the writing is so tiny I can't make any of it out.

Not sure on console, but on PC there is an "interface scale" slider under the 'Basic' tab in options that accomplishes this.

So I'm incredibly unhappy as to the fact that in STO on Xbox you can't get the Wrath of Khan outfit, both the PS4 and PC have it I don't know why it's not on the Xbox so darn frustrating!

^ One of the main reasons I don't play as much as use too. The grind. Logged in for the latest mission a few weeks ago. Don't care about this new rep - not sure if I'll bother with the summer event (or it's ship)

I just don't worry and plod along. Been basically solo casual player for the five years I have been playing...no I don't have all the shiny, but I get by. (Ok...I basically have no shiny. But I get by.)

There's a few that haven't been moved over yet. I've barely touched the console release, but my other half is continuously frustrated that she can't get the Terran Odyssey uniforms as she prefers them to the Enterprise style.

I see the grind as a challenge. How much of any resource I can build at a time etc. I'm currently raising EC after spending a few (hundred :/) million just to see how much I can get. I'll likely get bored around the 500M mark and spend it all again before raising dil/zen for the inevitable Discovery content.

I never usually bother with reps, but I'm quite liking Lukari. I'm only really doing the Borg Red Alerts to get the marks, which only takes five minutes every couple of days, and only so I can use the Lukari set in the visual slots. The only missions that annoy me are the early ones. I've just finished the Cardassian missions on my Delta recruit, which I'd put off for ages and dread going through it all again in the Temporal.

Everything feels very dragged out and boring up to the Breen arc.

Hard to believe it is still here 7 year later, 7 years of grind, well 6 years of grind as we have that year of nothing while Atari was ditching the game, or as it is know now, the golden era. lol

I really don't feel that the grind in STO is that steep. Compared to some other MMOs that I have played, Star Trek Online's levelling system is pretty streamlined. One level per mission. It's not like some other MMOs that require you to go stand in a field and mindlessly axe murder squirrels for several hours for 6 XP a pop.

I think the grind in STO is the equipment and shiny grind...a free to play player needs to grind Díl for zen and all sorts. Then a more casual player like me needs to grind ec like you wouldn't believe to have any, and I do mean any, of the shinies or things needed to be competitive or part of a viable team. (I have mostly soloed over the five or six years, buy ships and zen about once a year....and have only ever had about 3m ec in the bank. The farming and grinding separate the haves and have nots in STO. Lockbox ships in particular are for the middle and upper classes in STO xD)

^ Depends on where you are in the game. Myself I have 10 or so toons. At least 7 are level 60. Now enjoying a bit of a break from the game, as I focus on other things. The game will always be there.

Drop me a line in-game @GabyBee - I can pass some upgrade stacks and EC your way. Nobody in any version of Star Trek should ever be any version of a "have not".

I am @jaime9526 , but honestly, it's also true that i should 'work' a bit harder to get stuff. But am an infrequent flyer a lot of the time, so I'd don't do things like the tour the universe every day etc. :)

Well thanks to pain staking R&D pack sells for almost a freaking year I finally managed to get a T6 Connie to finish my TOS alt.

Now we just need to finish K-13 and get the requisitions up so I can properly outfit it.

I gave up all hope of ever getting a T6 Connie. Too expensive and time consuming. I admire your tenacity though!

Glad I've fallen so hard for the Tactical Escorts, because those are readily available.
