Star Trek o'clock

I get that when I see 9:47, the length of the Enterprise (supposedly) in feet.

:)

In Britain aren't all the clocks on 24 hour time? I don't know if that where Shat is.

:)

I live in the good ol' U. S. of A. and I just prefer to keep my clocks on 24 hour.

And, yes, I have the same experience every time I see 17:01....

Although I live in the UK and have a personal preference for 24HR clock/watch display, I don't think it's anymore prevalent here particularly. Most people I know will still talk about 7PM this evening etc.

If someone were to ask me the time, and I answered 15:30 as opposed to 3:30 - they would probably look at me gone out!

But, yes, if I glance at a clock and see 17:01 it's definitely Trek time!

I live in the U.S., but we had a VCR while I was growing up that was always on a 24-hour clock so I knew the 24-hour clock since I was a little kid. Most people in the U.S don't use the 24-hour clock, so I was like... the only one out of my friends that knew it lol.

And my dad did refer to it as "military time" since he used the 24-hour clock while he was in the Navy, but now I know that a lot of other countries just use it as their normal clock. I work at a Korean company now and they all use the 24-hour clock.

Back in the day I used to love having my watch on "military time" but I had a couple of uncomfortable occasions where I was asked the time and I tried to quickly do that "military-to-civilian" time calculation and ended up looking like an idiot.

I have it memorized from my old VCR lol. It comes in handy now that my company uses it.
