Star Trek: Mariner "Revelations & Anomalies"

Hello, this is Eric Cheung from Star Trek: Mariner. I play Lieutenant Commander Sirol, and I was also brought on to help write for the show.

The latest episode of Star Trek: Mariner is up: Revelations & Anomalies.

We've decided to take a break from the three-parter beginning with A New Threat Part I, to show you the fifth episode chronologically. It was actually the first one to be completed, so it's good to see it online!

In this episode the crew investigate a nebula, Veranis and Reese bond over a trip gathering samples, and the two of them each react to their discovery in different ways...

I just watched this. This was a very interesting and cool Trek episode. It had a TNG feel throughout which I liked. The only thing it lacks is music to emphasise the drama at keypoints.

Very enjoyable non the less!

Thanks for the input. When it got posted it was the first time I saw it too. I simply write and act in it. I got to hear the other performances and was quite impressed. I could feel for Reese watching it.

I'll pass the note along.

I'm enjoying your series so far. I like the character designs, especially the females. :techman:

One criticism I have of your pilot, that you will hopefully take in the constructive spirit it is intended, concerns the destruction of the Romulan ships. A statement by one of the characters, that lethal force was the only way to break through Romulan shields and that the Mariner was in fact at risk, should have been included. Simply destroying the Romulans without any indication of regret, especially since the Federation was not at war with them, does not seem consistent with Starfleet principles.

One other thing about your soundtrack is that I notice a lot of popping noises.

I look forward to more episodes. Overall, I like what I see. Thanks!

We do examine that later on in the season. In fact in the pilot we tease that a hearing will be held later on.

Regarding the name, I believe we're not even the only fan-film with that name. Also, I googled Star Trek: Mariner and there was a story years ago about that being the possible name of a Riker show.
