Maybe the same could be said for an evil computer.

The original Daystrom himself invented an evil computer. Perhaps one of the tasks of his Institute is to figure out where he went wrong and try to build AI's that don't go evil with power somewhere down the line, especially after the highly public incidents of the 2250s and '60s.

Data was a robot, but he was, more importantly, an artificial intelligence, and this is why Maddox and co were so interested in him. If they succeeded in dismantling him or his daughter, would they wind up decapitated and placed in one of those small alcoves for occasional testing and interviews? Is that where Lore and all the Martian synths wound up as well?

Okay, fair enough.

Back to the topic at hand: When the episode's title appears on screen, it's obviously in Klingon script. Were these characters made up for this episode, or are they true to the Klingon writing system previously established (if there ever was one)?

I mean, I know there exists an actual spoken Klingon language, with grammar and syntax and all that, but does this also extend to the written word?

That Ren Faire ship was magnificent, as someone already mentioned it's unfortunate they didn't milk it more, it definitively had some unused potential. And how can you not love Jeffrey Combs in the role of an evil computer? A solid 8/10 for me.

Terrific artwork, in a show that's got a lot of terrific artwork already.

Nice trope inversion of Geordi, about the chief engineer striving to REMAIN a virgin. (Him asking if it hurt had me rolling.)

The evil computer, AMIGUS, was a riot. Loved the voice and inflection; it's perfect. But I'm just glad it, while tempting the crew to plug it in to fix the replicator to create potable water, wasn't also offering waffles, muffins, croissants, crumpets, pancakes, potato cakes, hot cross buns, smegging flapjacks, and/or toast... ...though it'd have been hilarious if it had.

As always, lots of nice one-liners.

In Engineering on Cerritos, behind Rutherford, never noticed the back panel having the word "MAP" in a font so large that it's almost comedic in of itself.

A couple plot developments were arguably predictable, but they still took decent-enough left turns.

Did NOT expecting the implied threesome. Am not complainin', either.

The evil 'puter being "boim'ed!" as said by Boimler was another top moment for the episode. Quite a few, rather...

9.50/10

Why not 10/10?

Cuz I love black licorice alongside that muffin. :luvlove: :nyah: :guffaw:

I definitely caught the CBS logo. Even watching on my old CRT TV. Were there any others in the "evil computer warehouse" that I should have recognized?

Where "Spy Humungous" started out meh, and went downhill, this got better. Really liked how Boimler managed to play the evil computer like a violin. Has he been studying Kirk and Spock's mission reports?
