I really loved Badgey. It was pretty funny and clever to have the holodeck version of Windows' old Clippy tool go homicidal.

I also really liked the Captain wanting to resolve things diplomatically but the tactical officer wanting to blow things up. It was a pretty funny spoof of the image of Starfleet as being peaceful.

It seems the episode was a direct response to the criticism that Lower Decks is not Starfleet because Starfleet officers are competent and the best of the best. We had Fletcher talk about how you have to meet a basic requirement of excellence to join of Starfleet. We had several references to "this is the Starfleet way". I also liked when Fletcher accused of Mariner of breaking the rules and she responded "only the ones that I think are stupid and never put anybody's life at risk (well except Boimler's)". This was the episode telling us that Mariner is a real Starfleet officer. She is competent . She just has a bit of an attitude for rules that she thinks are stupid. This episode basically showed that Fletcher is not Starfleet material (he gets fired at the end) but that Mariner and Boimler are Starfleet material. It was also great seeing Mariner and Boimler bond and work together.

If Fletcher hadn't been kicked off the Titan we would have had a reason for why Riker was no longer Captain within a few years. He'd almost destroyed the Titan and Riker had gotten tired of commanding a ship with officers like Fletcher. ;)

There's continuity and then there's memberberries. All this show is doing is memberberries disguised as continuity. Remember Q? Remember The Traveler? Remember the Titan? 'Member? 'Member?!

You think that? Really? Didn't catch it the first three times you mentioned it. I'm all for criticism and I'm not going to say that its not a fair criticism. If it bothers you, that's fair. But there comes a point in time where it just becomes a frikkin broken record.

I'd say from this episode that Rutherford and Tendi are definitely being played as a "Will they or won't they?".
