I love that Kirk's grey cadet uniform is reminiscent of the one that Finnegan was wearing.

I never noticed before, but the duty uniform has a boomerang pattern all over it. I think that starfleet has an issue with slapping that symbol on everything they can. For example- does it really need to be on the power-suit-things that Sulu and Kirk are wearing?

Probably so. The Kelvin is designed to look old-fashioned (compared to the ENT).

I don't think you were here then, but there were several threads last summer about the pattern in the fabric, back around the time the first posters came out (just before the SanDiego Comic-Con?)

Starfleet-issue equipment, I'd guess, and it's not as if the modern Army and Navy don't have emblems all over everything today, down to the uniform buttons (and, yes, even the fabric.) Does the Starfleet delta need to be on what appears to be the quick-release button, rather than the usual instructions and little arrow telling the wearer which way to turn it to get out of the parachute harness? Probably not, but I don't have any real difficulty with it being there, either; I hadn't even noticed it before this photo was released toady.

I think a lot of long-time trekkies will wind up liking the, uh, "Kelvin" bridge better than the Enterprise's.

I think "some of us" who disliked the changes to the Enterprise have adjusted, especially now that we know it's apparently part of the timeline change. At least it makes sense.

It's not like they're shoving the new verrsion in our face and saying "It always looked like this...you just never noticed before". The changes are there for a reason, as a result of things that happen in the story. This makes it easier to accept.

I do notice that what may be the Kobiashi Maru Captain's chair looks somewhat familiar, however.
