Star Trek/Legion of Super-Heroes coming!

The conclusion to this brilliant mini is out today, can't wait to find out how the teams are able to solve their predicament.
I finally got a chance to read the final issue last night...and it felt a little rushed, after some magnificent build up, but we do get a resolution and I guess both teams don't have any memory of this encounter since one could assume it didn't exist? I loved a certain someone's portrayal. Also Roberson used Shatner hand motions for Kirk at one point!!!! Flint is the only one who seems to remember the incident, oh and the certain someone is dressed as someone we knew from TOS 
Overall though I felt this was a extremely strong story that was ultimately satisfying, considering that most of these crossovers are badly written. You could feel Chris Roberson's passion for both franchises in this mini-series. I can't wait for the hardcover.

Well, I collected, I read, I smirked a little when some TOS cameos appeared, but I didn't find this mini-series to be a "must read". Granted, I have only a passing knowledge of the "Legion of Superheroes", mainly knowing the characters from issues of "Secret Origins" in the late 80s. I'm glad it seems to have thrilled "Legion" fans.
Will probably enjoy it more when it comes out in omnibus reprint, which I shall buy because... I buy them all.

What omnibus? It is getting a hardccover release as mentioned earlier. Far as I'm concerned it thrilled both the Legion fan and the Trekkie in me I also enjoyed Kirk's future speech to Flint/Savage. Can't wait for Doctor Who/TNG! I think the main theme/message of the crossover was hope and optimism since both Star Trek and the DCU (even the New 52 future both represent an optimistic utopian future). At least this is what I will take away from this crossover.

AFAIK, "omnibus" means a collection of previously reprinted materials. So it's a hardcover omnibus. Omnibus: "A printed anthology of the works of one author or of writings on related subjects."

Ian, I think the confusion comes from the specific way IDW uses the term "Omnibus" for certain editions, specifically for the smaller-size trade paperbacks they publish like The Best of Peter David. Technically you're right by the the dictionary, but you're not right by IDW's usage.
I'm looking forward to the hardcover myself, which is coming in two editions, one comic shop specific (with a Keith Giffen cover) and one for the book market (with, I think, the Phil Jimenez cover from issue #1).
I was indeed going by the IDW terminology...sorry for the confusion. I also noticed that this last issue still possessed the DC swoosh and not the new ugly logo. Interesting, perhaps indicating that this story is in fact an "imaginary story" as Christopher would call it? I was kind of expecting to see the new logo on it lol.

It was... okay. Honestly, that's the best I can say about it.
I can see why the DTI would have no record of this incident -- it no longer happened when SPOILER was released.
On the other hand, even tortured nearly to death Kirk gets make to make a good and impassioned speech to Vandal Flint.
I'm glad this book exists. I'm glad I read it. Despite the ending, this is the fulfillment of a two decade-old dream.
Now, bring on the Cybermen! And Kirk had better deliver a flying leg kick to a Mondasian in the flashback episode in issue #3.

IDW probably sent the sixth issue to press before DC finalized the new logo in early-March, in which case the "swoosh" would have had to be used.

That makes sense and yeah it will probably be on the hardcover in a couple months...although I got "Batman Incorporated" Volume One on Friday (Chapters had it out early for once) and no new logo. I was sure it will contain the logo due to the delay.
Yep. I agree that it was not as good as the previous five issues, but still had a satisfactory ending. I kind of thought that the pay off to the excellent build up would be rushed...but oh well. It was still well worth it for the effort into the story and passion from Roberson. The art was terrific, so were the easter eggs.

The Direct Market edition of the Star Trek/Legion hardcover is out today, and the spine bears the new DC logo.
(The "regular" edition isn't out until next week.)
I haven't taken the shrinkwrap off yet. The front cover is a virgin version of Keith Giffen's cover to issue #1 and the back cover is Moy artwork from, I think, issue #2.
