Star Trek/Legion of Super-Heroes coming!

What would you guys think of a Green Lantern/Star Trek crossover? Seems to me like another one that could work pretty well.

Personally, I'd love to have seen a Silver Surfer/Star Trek Voyager crossover.

So, in an early episode of Enterprise, they mentioned the comic book character of Superman. So how can a Starfleet crew meet a team that has a member who they know to be a fictional character (in the Trek reality)? Dimensional wibbly wobbly stuff, I suppose?

From left to right...

Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy, Chameleon Boy, Shadow Lass.

At this point in Legion continuity, which appears to be pre-Crisis, they are...

Lightning Lad is believed by everyone at this time to be Garth Ranzz from the planet Winath, but he's actually a shapeshifter named Proty. (In his natural form, he looks like a Founder.) He has electrical powers.

Saturn Girl (Imra Ardeen) is from Saturn's moon Titan, and she's a telepath. Garth and Imra are married at this point in time, and they will have three children.

Cosmic Boy (Rokk Krinn) is from Braal, where he was a champion magnaball player. He has magnetic powers. (I've mused in the past on who would win in a fight -- Magneto or Rokk. I think Rokk is more powerful, but Magneto would play dirty.) He later loses his powers, then becomes the Time Trapper, one of the Legion's greatest villains, in a timey-wimey kind of way.

Chameleon Boy is a Durlan named Reep Daggle. He's a shapeshifter.

Shadow Lass is Tasmia Mallor from the planet Talok. She can project darkness and extinguish light. In my favorite period of Legion history, she's married to Mon-El (Lar Gand from the planet Daxam), who has all of Superman's powers, but instead of a kryptonite vulnerability he's vulnerable to lead.

Can there be a more lame group of superheroes? I doubt it. They even out lame thew Wonder Twins,

Let's do a ST/Smurf crossover. We can have Gargamel be a super villain.

That can't be any worse then what we have coming up. It's not just a train wreck, it's a tidal wave of fan wank and just think of what a tidal wave is and what wanking is and you get the point.

I can honestly say I have never heard of any of these characters before.

I didn't read the Xmen thing. Were Geordi and Cyclops buddies?

Cyclops only appeared in the TOS/X-Men crossover, which featured the classic '80s team composition, perhaps to parallel the use of "classic" Trek. The TNG/X-Men crossovers used a more current X-Men team.

I'm sure there will be fans of this, but it just seems wrong somehow to import superheroes into the world of Star Trek.

A lot of Trek characters do basically have superpowers, though -- Spock, Data, Geordi, Deanna, Odo, Kes, Seven, and the like. And what's Q if not a supervillain?

Of course crossover stories like this aren't meant to be actual in-continuity tales. They're what are known in comics parlance as "imaginary stories" -- tales that aren't meant to be "real" within the series continuity but allow the exploration of possibilities that couldn't fit in the series' "reality."

Frankly, I, not John Ordover, should be editing this dream project. Heck, I'd kill to write it. Clearly, Allyn and I knew what would be commercial and fun years ago.

The Legion, introduced as a one-off in 1958, struck such a chord with readers that they made repeated appearances before being given their own feature in Adventure Comics and have been a staple of the DC Universe ever since. They have endured more reboots than just about any other franchise and continue to endure.

Representatives of different worlds in the 31st Century's United Planets, they are teens who fight for truth, justice, and the galactic way. Brainiac 5 is essentially a living version of Data and should play well off Spock, for example.

Chris Roberson, IDW's writer, has done some nice work for DC's Superman title while the Moys were Legion artists back int the 1990s and I know they are huge Trek fans.

If it were the reboot Legion, I'd be all up for it. The preboot/unboot Legion doesn't work for me.

so when is this sopposed to start? I loved the infestation star trek crossover.

I would love to see legion do a crossover with star wars and star trek all together.

It's coming out in the fall timothy. I don't think a specific release date has been mentioned yet. I for one am excited. I'm a huge LOSH fan and of course Trek fan. This was one of my favorite announcements from yesterday.

thanks can't wait I have all the legion archives big fan. who will be the prime publisher in this IDW or DC?
