Star Trek Las Vegas Aug 6-10 "08" Schedule

Thanks. Looks like not too much overlapping. Now I need to fix my own schedule. So much to get in for a first timer. Gotta stay on schedule. :borg:
 Me too!

Well, I got through the schedule. Two problems for me on Friday: :scream:

Problem 1:
4:20: autographs with Nichelle in the theater and George opposite registration because he likes to chat with his fans and they'll be needing the theater at ...
4:50: Connor, Dom and Anthony on stage. (I'll have 30 minutes to get through two autograph lines in separate locations (and one of those lines will be moving very slowly). :brickwall:

Problem 2:
1:30: Jolene on stage
1:50: photo op with Nichelle. :brickwall:

I got some problems with this schedule as well.

Friday
10:25 Malcolm McDowell on stage
11:05 Jolene Blalock photo op (I'll have to miss a few minutes of Malcolm on stage to do this)
11:20 Malcolm McDowell autograph session
2:20 Jolene Blalock autograph session
3:10 Malcolm McDowell photo op (I might be able to do both here, but I really hate rushing back and forth across the building.)

Alice Krige just cancelled and I'm hoping Creation will change the schedule around to spread out Malcolm and Jolene's appearances out a bit.

Sunday
10:30 Scott Bakula photo op
12:00 pm I have to leave in the middle of Scott on stage to go get tickets for the Aliens Unmasked panel at the Experience later that night
12:30 pm Scott Bakula autograph session
12:50 pm Leonard Nimoy photo op (this is the one I'm most worried about, but Creation did say that people who have tickets for an photo op with Leonard can go first for Scott Bakula's autograph).

4:00 pm Leonard Nimoy autograph
4:10 pm Seating upgrade for 2009 ( I'm not too concerned about this since both of these events will be held in the same room and I doubt leonard will be done autographing in 10 to 15 minutes.)

Next year I plan to wait until a few weeks before the convention when the dates of appearances have been announced, unless they get a major guest whose autograph and photo op I would love to get. Also, I'm going to try to limit myself to 1 auograph session and 1 photo op a day.

11:45 am BRANNON BRAGA (Executive Producer of Star Trek: Enterprise and Star Trek: Voyager, and co-producer of Star Trek: The Next Generation Brannon wrote scores of Star Trek TV episodes as well as feature films Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Generations) and MANNY COTO (Executive Producer of Star Trek: Enterprise, writer of 14 episodes )
I can't wait to hear how this turns out. Audience reaction on the day and the inevitable Season 5 "What if?" questions.

Someone should ask how they were going to xplain the whole Trip dying thing and coming back to life at beginning of season; granted we know that set in future; like to hear explanation on that.

STAR TREK VEGAS:
PARTIES & FOOD FUNCTIONS NEARING SELL-OUTS!

With over 10,000 tickets already sold for the upcoming Official STAR TREK Convention coming to The Las Vegas Hilton on AUGUST 6 to 10, 2008, this year's event is sure to be fantastic! We wanted to let everyone know that there is just about a week left to order tickets in advance for the convention and especially for any of the extra food functions. We do not sell tickets at the convention for the food functions or parties so if you want in you have to do it in advance.

Of particular interest are our two big parties at STAR TREK: THE EXPERIENCE where we're saying goodbye to this 11-year attraction which is unfortunately closing very soon after the convention. Raise a glass with us as we bid a fond farewell to one of our favorite places!
Here is the line-up of fun extra events: please get yourself set NOW by clicking here to visit our LAS VEGAS CONVENTION SITE!

Two questions.

Chocolate party, is it worth it?

Meal with the stars, is it worth it?

Okay, for real. I read on one of the forums that a past chocolate party consisted of chocolate ice cream and not much of anything else. It has to be more than this, doesn't it? The meals with the stars has me really wondering how they set it up. Do they just make an appearance and walk around? Do they spend a bit of time sitting at each table? How much contact can you expect, if any?

I got some problems with this schedule as well.

Alice Krige just cancelled and I'm hoping Creation will change the schedule around to spread out Malcolm and Jolene's appearances out a bit.
Write to them and suggest it (and please ask about Nichelle's photo op for me! I don't want to be a pest).

Sunday
12:00 pm I have to leave in the middle of Scott on stage to go get tickets for the Aliens Unmasked panel at the Experience later that night
Perhaps you could appeal to someone who isn't planning to attend Scott's forum to go buy the tickets for you.

12:30 pm Scott Bakula autograph session
12:50 pm Leonard Nimoy photo op (this is the one I'm most worried about, but Creation did say that people who have tickets for an photo op with Leonard can go first for Scott Bakula's autograph).
That's that I'm banking on, too! :)

4:00 pm Leonard Nimoy autograph
4:10 pm Seating upgrade for 2009 ( I'm not too concerned about this since both of these events will be held in the same room and I doubt leonard will be done autographing in 10 to 15 minutes.)

Friday & Sunday are my only crunch days. Thank goodness!

I don't have the slightest clue how to work Multi-quote so I'll just respond with point by point with numbers.

1) I don't feel comfortable asking the Creation guys to rearrange the schedule just to satisfy me. I might end messing up something else's schedule and they would in the same predicament I am in.

2)Actually, I'm not too worried about this because I got to see Scott speak at his first Trek convention 2 years ago. Still it would have been nice to see him speak again.

3) That is going to be a major pain in the ass.

4) One of these days, I'll have these conventions down to an
art form.

Also, Creation isn't going to be sending out tickets till next week and I leave for Vegas on the morning of the first.
I might have to email them and ask them to hold my tickets at the door.

well, i understand.

OT:

multiquote is easy:

click on the multiquote button at the bottom of each post you want to respond to (it also works over multiple pages); when you reach the last one you want to respond to, just click on the regular quote button and they'll all pop up in the reply window.

sorting out the quote/closed quote can be a pain so i wouldn't do more than 3-4 at a time.:)

Weird, I thought that Connor and Dom's "Vegas Act" would be during one of the daytime sessions in the theater. At least that's what my (possibly busted!) memory recalls reading on the Creation site....

That's because their promotion doesn't say anything about it being at a particular event. I think a lot of fans are going to be disappointed (unless of course, they also do it during their forum). It probably won't be more than 20 minutes because there are other performances during the Thursday dinner.

But it's a Boys of Enterprise forum so Anthony is on stage then, too.

STAR TREK VEGAS:
"AUTOGRAPH" ROOM CELEBRITY LIST

One of the great things about the upcoming Official STAR TREK Convention (August 6-10, 2008 at The Las Vegas Hilton) is the chance for fans to meet and hang out with some of the wonderful performers who have made guest appearances on various Star Trek shows over the past 40 plus years.
These talented folks will be on hand, most throughout the entire five days, to welcome fans and offer their autographs at a nominal fee.

Thanks,

Your "autograph collecting" friends at Creation Entertainment

Pardon a silly question (it's been over 20 years since I've been to a Creation's Star Trek Convention). All this scheduling shows the stars at paid lunches and paid autograph sessions and paid whatnot. But what does the general admission/entrance fee (the "get in the door" money) get you? Is it nothing more than a prerequisite to spend more money?

You can have a seat in the main room and watch the stage as stars and other people involved with Star Trek give their talks.

Ah, on third look, there do appear to be some sprinkled in and camouflaged by the luncheons, autographs sessions, and other ticket required items! (Odd how 20+ years ago, your tickets got you everything on the only day. Now you need tickets for everything each day.)

[wow I coulda' had a V-8 forehead slap mode on] After reading essentially the same thing for months, I wasn't reading as close any more![/wow I coulda' had a V-8 forehead slap mode off]... thanks for waking me up!

Focusing just on the (screen) stars on stage, does this look correct?
