Star Trek in the 26, 27 or 28th Centuries?

The problem with that scenario is that the further you go in time with the Abramsverse, the more different things will be. The characters in TNG, DS9, and Voyager simply will not exist, or if they do exist, they'll be vastly different than their Prime universe counterparts.
That's the point, no? The idea is to have a blank canvas to use the conventions of the Trek setting as one pleases more or less.

Besides, if the Abramsverse taught us anything, it's that improbable coincidence will work in conveinent ways.

Yes, that's exactly the point. When I said it was a "problem," I was referring to the other poster's idea about meeting Picard, Sisko, Janeway, et. al in the future of the Abramsverse. They're simply not going to exist in the way that we know them, if they even exist at all.

Yeah, they'd be recast. ;)

I dont think warp speed would be a problem -- the focus would shift or, rather, expand to include other galaxies. If excess warp travel within the galaxy has damaged subspace, then warp travel could be replaced, more or less, by wormhole travel. The only problem I see is the advent of time travel.
