so in the scene that kirk dies which was suppose to parallel spock dying in wok. I was not so trilled with the rehash but I did not think it was that bad however I wished they had remove the Khan shouting by spock. I felt it was too much because in that moment we had too much fan service and calls back to the old films that it made star trek into darkness not look like its own film.
so it should have been two options only and the writers should have chosen one.
keep kirk dying exactly like spock did in wok and remove the khan shout by nu spock which was a throw back to TOS Kirk or
Keep the Khan shout somewhere in the film and completely remove Kirk dying the same way spock did in wok. the writers should have chosen one of the two instead of putting the two most iconic scenes of WOK in STID and at the same moment. I felt in a weird way that it crippled the story telling of the film.
