Is it ever established that TOS transporters have the ability to deactivate weapons?

I think they did it in Day of the Dove?

This is not stated or clearly shown. Instead, our heroes turn the tables on the Klingons rather literally, by delaying their beam-up and then turning them around so that their threatening "All weapons at Kirk" pose is turned into an "All weapons at wall while Security grabs everybody from behind and removes the guns" one.

Transporters in TOS don't manipulate people much, and neither the TOS movies nor DSC seem to wish to differ there. Nor did ENT "earlier on"...
