Quark's Treasure. Complete with no one having any idea who Quark is or why a subatomic particle would have a treasure.
"Hew-mons progressed 800 years in technology and still don't have seatbelts. What did I tell you, Rom?"
I really enjoyed this episode. Burnham's words to the Akaali magistrate at the end were stone cold. Loved it.
That’s almost exactly what is happening now with the singular “they,” so if it’s a mess, it’s not much more of a mess than we already had.
I'm sure Disney would sue CBS because of that, so unlikely.
Is that a reference to "The Queen's Gambit"?
Takara / Hasbro might not be happy with that name
I have no idea why they would recycle this name.
How about "Book's ship?"
I find it interesting that Michael is so sympathetic with murderers. Would she feel the same about rapists or child molesters?
She should be unsympathetic? Why?
Would you sympathize with a rapist? A child molester?
Would you leave them to die?
No, but I wouldn't be nice and warm to them like Michael was.
Different Captains & Crews have different views on Prisoners / Criminals.
exactly what I mean.
probably. But you can’t show it on a 21st century show, so the writers will not go there.
If she believes in a restorative/rehabilitative justice model over a punitive justice model, she may well feel sympathetic to rapists or child molesters, particularly if they have received effective treatment, taken responsibility for their choices, and are making a genuine effort to change and atone for their crimes. Remember, in TOS "Dagger of the Mind," we learned that the Federation has embraced a rehabilitative model for its prisoners -- treating them as patients who need intensive mental and physical health care, rejecting cages in favor of "decent, clean hospitals for sick minds."
As it should be.
The best episode this year and better than anything last year (bar those two mu episodes) think Tillys absence made a big difference to be honest.
I'm boggled nobody has commented on this! I think this is a really neat idea and would bring all sorts of fun complications, especially with Stamets.
***HUGS*** to all of you.
Wow. I knew about the language issue, but not the social part.
Thank you for sharing that! I'm learning to ask people what they prefer.
I'd love if some of you would come over to this thread to talk about this. I think the OP doesn't realize how it is in different countries.
I love you folks. FWIW, I think @ToddCam has the clear winner here!
