Why?That Airiam character doesn’t really mesh well here. She seems too advanced for 23rd century Starfleet and I doubt they would allow augmentation like that, even cybernetically.
So the Discovery is down to only 2 commanders now.

Side note: At the beginning during Airiam's memory sequence, until they talked about a shuttle, I also thought it was a commercial. I was saying "hey, I'm on the commercial free plan!" and then I realized this wasn't Cialis, it was Star Trek.
All in all, this one gets a Genuine 7 from me. The emotional performances made it work better than it probably should have, but they were enough.
GREAT
* Tilly stumbling over how she's not a fugitive (except that one time) was adorable. Go Tilly..
From what we seem it looks like they didn’t have the tech to do something like that to a human, even in the 24th century. Plus augmentating is a bit of a no no in Starfleet. Why?

Busy in the real Engineering Room.Good episode. I was sorry to see Airiam go. I would have been more sad had they developed her character better throughout the season before killing her off. One episode was not enough.
Loved Admiral Kat. Loved the Spock exchanges with both Burnham and Stamets. Fascinated by the Control/AI taking over Starfleet plot. They actually now have my interest with S31. Glad to see some development on Nhan.
Where was Reno? She could have helped Stamets.
7/10
I haven't read the novels, so I'm not sure. And that one time presumably refers to the events of the recent DISCO novel about Tilly? That's certainly had I took it.
Busy in the real Engineering Room.
Sure they did. We just saw that they did. From what we seem it looks like they didn’t have the tech to do something like that to a human, even in the 24th century.
Not that type of Augmentation.Plus augmentating is a bit of a no no in Starfleet.
Translation: not available for this episode.
Working with Spock was more efficient anyway. You can things done three times as fast when you're not constantly arguing, like Stamets and Reno would've.
I thought it was a good callback to TMP, when Spock arrived and helped Scotty balance the warp engines.
I mean, you’re not wrong. But it would have been nice to see at least a passing reference to Reno. We haven’t seen her in what? 4? 5 episodes?
Lt. Leslie appeared in 58 episodes altogether and he barely had any dialogue throughout the entire run of TOS. Reno will be back soon. She was built up to have an important role of some kind and I doubt Tig Nigaro is a complete non-entity on the DSC sets. She'll in all likelihood be back by the midseason break.
What midseason break? This season is 14 and done. No breaks.
