STAR TREK DISCOVERY: 1x13 'What's Past Is Prologue' Trailer

Federation: Does not force worlds to join that don't want to.
Klingon: Conquers every world it can to forcibly absorb them into the Empire.

Now tell me, who's worse?

Depends whom you ask:

I'd like to think T'kuvma loses in every possible universe. In the Kelvinverse he turns into a crabby old Klingon living on the dole, trying to fix up his folks' sarcophagus ship, unable to secure a loan to get the special parts, certain that his destiny is tied to this stupid machine if he could just get it working..
He just needs to go into Tosche Station for some power converters.

^ Except when they're not, which is all the time.

Unless there's an example of a world which WAS forced to join the Federation... ;)

Lorca seems to have had a costume change. He's wearing a Terran Starfleet away vest under his coat in the trailer. I'm not even sure if it's the same coat. Could these scenes be [art of a flashback sequence?

Bajor, basically. Start the process of joining the Federation or we will leave you defenseless against an aggressor that occupied you for decades

Starfleet was actively engaged in the defense of Bajor (working closely with the local militia) for most of DS9's run, and that was before Federation membership was ever a thing. By the time Bajor got around to even considering joining, the occupation was over, and Cardassia was no longer a threat.

And if you recall, by the time the episode "Rapture" came around, Bajor had actually applied for membership. They WANTED to join. Sisko had to convince them not to.

I repeat: The Federation has never, EVER, forced a world to join against its will. They DO have the right to make their case, as it were. To lay out the specific benefits that a world will receive if it joins. But the ultimate decision is, and always has been, up to the leadership of that world.

Just use Quinto and a distant out of focus shot of the ship.;)
If Pike's Ent does show up in the finale, could they possibly do something whiz-bang-boom like CG'ing Spock from "The Cage" and having him standing behind whoever they cast as Pike? Or would that be too sacrilegious?
